Should work just fine; trouble here in the San Francisco Bay Area is that the smog inspector will not let it pass!

For real? Why not?

Epoxy is brittle and the plastic is flexible. So it will crumble over time. There is also a pattex montage glue for outside use, which is strong, watertight and flexible and holds plastic quite well. It's the one that does not need a porous surface to dry. If your solution fails, try the pattex stuff.

If there's oil passing through the hose, make sure the new hose will be oil resistant. I bought a breather hose, made to the right shape but from regular rubber. So it looked good first but it started sweating and dissolving afterwards. It has to be NBR rubber.

Use super glue & baking soda this will bond anything and hold for an eternity.
