@donschoppe55162 жыл бұрын
Great explanation. When I have the time, I typically leave the funnel in place (loosely covered to avoid debris entry) at the end of the burping process. I remove it after the system cools. This avoids handling of the hot coolant and allows some additional coolant to be drawn into the system as it contracts. After removing the funnel with remaining cooled liquid, I then just draw some coolant out of the reservoir until it's at the proper level.

Oh yeah. If you open the radiator cap.. with any old rubber coated cotton glove, you can bleed the overflow hoses by forcing air and coolant into the passage meant for over pressure by moving the cap until it gurgles lol 😂 then it’s relatively safe once the temp drops. Even hot. I’d recommend like.. getting to thermostat temp then waiting 5-10min.

I hope you still answer questions on this video, i was just in a accident in my other vehicle and my family is down to one car and Im needing to use this tool to get the air out the coolant system. This is where Im confused. Was your coolant system totally empty? I was doing mine after a flush, so it was bone dry. One confusion is I thought the temperature gauge in the car dont suppose to move at all. Ive heard that if your temperature gauge moves its still air in the system OR are you saying only through this process the temperature needle in tbe car should drop down when the thermostat opens? After doing this the temperature needle in the car shouldn't move right? Respectfully, you said you want to wait till you see the bubbles stop in the funnel.. as you notice the bubbles stopped once you started closing the bleeder. So do you keep letting it come out the bleeder till you stop seeing bubbles in the funnel or wait till you have a steady stream coming out the bleeder? Did it stop showing bubbles because your reservoir was full or the best thing to do is let some more out the bleeder close it and wait till no bubbles in funnel before the reservoir gets full? Last question, its 2 or 3 adapters I could use. The red one fits into the smaller hole in the reservoir and the metal cap fits on but the gasket falls off the red one when pulling it out.. the black adapter fits more to the top main entry of the reservoir and pushes down snug when i put the metal cap on. The yellow one i have fits like yours but I cant get the metal cap to twist on. Did you have a little struggle getting your metal cap on to make sure its air tight? Sorry for so many questions, this is the best video explaining how to use this tool. There youtube channel instructions are horrible.
@HowToWithLech6 ай бұрын
hi. I had to change hose and thermoastat so most of coolant was gone yes. once all replaced, I filled with coolant etc, and started to the burping the air out process. its not end of the world if you don't do it. but do the bleeder valve at least if have one. but its good to do it, to get rid of the air pockets in the hoses etc. as to the kit, as long as you can mount it, so coolant don't leak out when you have it filled you are fine. little drip you should be fine. they say adapters are for all makes but who knows. if bubbles mostly gone you should have most air gone. maybe 10 min or so for the process . or whatever I mentioned in the video. I hope this help. best of luck.

lol it won’t explode.. check the pressure in hoses. I just.. ie now… ran a v8 Holden to 92c and the hoses had little pressure. Since it has a massive reservoir, I just burp it using its own system lolz. If a vacuum is pulled it sucks it in. If more than 140kpa, blow off. Bleed the blow off hose. Imagine sucking in air lol you’re supposed to go through a full cycle of cooldown so when vacuum is pulled it gets fluid. Anyway I opened the radiator periodically even at full 92c running temp. Thermostat runs from 86-92. I definitely agree you shouldn’t touch it unless you know wtf you’re doing. I also didn’t need to put heater on since I have no valve. The car constantly blends hot and cold to create air currents in car

Hi sir does it work the same as ford fiesta 1.6 automatic trans
@HowToWithLech Жыл бұрын
Pretty universal process. See no issue why not

1. You must wear gloves when touching coolant 2. Bleeding and that extra gadget BIG funnel is not necessary if you do the following: pour slowly; squeeze the hoses; push acceleration repeatedly for 2min while running the engine and top off coolant; turn the car but not the engine on max heat but on low, run the car in inspection mode. You spilled all that coolant. You must wash that off as coolant can destroy things.

Do you have to do this method after replacing the water pump also ?
@HowToWithLech2 жыл бұрын
if changing water pump its a good idea to change the fluid to. but yeah, you will need to make sure no air pockets sitting et.

does a chrysler 2005 300 touring have a bleeding valve? i drained the coolant an tried to refill , put in about a gallon but it wont sink in had car engine running but didnt know fans must blow or atleast air turned on very confused on whats the issue
@HowToWithLech2 жыл бұрын
Not 100% sure. But i believe it should. U drained it all out? And it’s not going in at all? Weird
@KORUPTIONYT2 жыл бұрын
found out it does have one exactly where ur is in the video but it sprays all over the place and im worried about it getting on something it shouldn’t and some of the coolant went in once i released pressure from the bleeding valve but it didnt wanna keep doing it not sure if had to let the engine running for longer or what i did wrong
@KORUPTIONYT2 жыл бұрын
thinking about taking it to a place rhat does free inspections but just hoping they dont charge excessively for a simple fix

I have a 5.7l hemi and its not over heating but coolant overflows when i drive it i do have a small hole in radiator im having repaired. I replaced the thermastat and replace the upper radiator house.. Again it does not run hot .. Any advice???
@HowToWithLech2 жыл бұрын
Is there too much coolant in the reservoir? Should be filled to the marked lines. Not sure if the hole would affect it. Sorry not sure what it could be

Would this work on 08 Saturn vue xr I can fix almost anything on a car but when it comes to this I’m no good but I went out and brought one of those funnels if you over fill the overflow tank just let it cool down then take a little from the radiator
@HowToWithLech2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Idea is the same. Should work fine

Should the bleeder valve be closed when the car is running ?
@HowToWithLech8 ай бұрын
Yes. Just bleed when ready and close back up

If this isn't done right is there a chance that after driving for a couple of hours all the coolant could be pushed out and into the overfill container? I was driving down the road and noticed a mist coming from the front driver side coolant tank, looked over and saw the temperature gauge climbing so i pulled over ,cut the motor and lifted the hood and all the coolant was in the overfill tank,and none was in the hose going from radiator to the thermo housing?While it cooled down while i was waiting for the tow truck i looked under the hood and the coolant was going back into the main tank!

@@HowToWithLech Come to find out it is the coolant housing, I think it's the mech who is trying to cover his as because they did some work on the intake gasket a week ago and didn't properly burp the system!

@@HowToWithLech Towed it back to the shop come to find its the coolant housing,I think its the mech trying to cover his ass ,last week they replaced an intake gasket and they probably didn't burp the coolant correctly!

@@davegibson3763 not suprised. why i try to avoid dealer or mechanics these days. dont have one i trust anymore. last time dealreship did some work to my car, i later noticed they left my air intake disconnected from the manifold. another time they stripped my oil drain plug and tried to tell me i have pay $900 for new oil pain.

I have a 2003 Honda Civic LX with no bleeder valve and did everything this man did and it still didn't work. What I found out later is that you leave that funnel with coolant attached after shutting off the engine. Do not plug it. Let the coolant and engine cool overnight. As the coolant in the radiator and engine gets cold it contracts creating a vacuum sucking more coolant from the funnel. If you remove the fumnel too early, you risk sucking in air instead.
