Pinched optics seen with refractors as well if the set screws for the objective lens are too tight. Nice vid.

I own the same telescope and the 1 big diffraction spike was the drawtube of the focuser being in the optical path of the telescope. I ended up buying a low profile focuser which solved the problem and gives more room to mount accessories . I bought the UNCN2-S from TS-optics it also fits on the same mounting bracket as the original focuser so no drilling required.
@AVAstronomy4 жыл бұрын
thank you for mentioning this. This is something I've been meaning to upgrade on that scope as well. I was looking at a Moonilght focuser but since the TS model you mentioned doesn't require an drilling I'll definitely be looking into that!

I'm planning to use the Comet Hunter with the UNCN2. Did you need some distance rings to get in focus? For the UNCN2 TS offers 19mm rings to put under the UNCN2 to reach focus?

Hi, Wanted to know, is Orion E-Series 7-21mm Zoom Eyepiece is better then individual plossl eyepieces. And please let me know eseries eyepiece are plossl, means crisp image as delivered by plossl eyepieces.
@AVAstronomy4 жыл бұрын
Puneet Banga I have not used zoom eyepieces so I can’t personally speak on those. My understanding is Orion makes quality eyepieces.

Hey, even I've got the same teleskop today :D and I asked me how to clean the lense and the mirrows!
@AVAstronomy5 жыл бұрын
Tommy Knocker if you got this new you should t need to clean the optics. If you do clean the optics only use a 50/50 solution of distilled water and 95% isopropyl alcohol. And only use 100% cotton pads. Also, use canned air before wiping any surface. Hope you enjoy your new scope!
@tommyknocker95505 жыл бұрын
@@AVAstronomy thx a lot. It isnt new, was a return from a warehouse yet, 25% off. I've made the collimation well, now my finger prints are on the lense 😁. Also some dust behind the lense...what do you recommend?
@AVAstronomy5 жыл бұрын
Tommy Knocker use canned air first and that alcohol/distilled water solution I mentioned. Once you wipe. Wipe once and fold, repeat. Then use the canned air to dry the cleaned surface. You’re welcome.

@@AVAstronomy Morning Aaron! Think it must be night on your side :D. I only find isopropyl alcohol with 99,9%, is that a problem? Cheers Tom
@AVAstronomy5 жыл бұрын
Tommy Knocker Yes that is good. You generally want it to be 95% or higher so 99% is good. Be sure to dilute with the distilled water that’s all. I’m going back to bed, lol.

Hi Sir, need a information for eyepieces, i have orion xt8 inch Dob telescope. Is explore scientific eyepiece 52° LER 10mm AR 1.25" eyepiece is good to use with my telescope, performance wise ???
@AVAstronomy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Puneet, that eyepiece should pair nicely but honestly eyepieces and their compatibility with certain telescopes aren’t my strong point but I don’t see why that eyepiece wouldn’t be good. Should give you a nice wide field of view. God bless!

Does anybody use the stellarmate box for guiding and fotography?
@AVAstronomy5 жыл бұрын
Tommy Knocker Hi Tommy, it seems to be just like the ASI AIR and many people use that. I’m kind of old fashioned and come from the perspective: “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. I’m sure I’ll probably make the jump one day but for now I’m happy with using usb connection to a laptop.

Hi, I am from India , recently i have bought Orion xt8 Classic Dobsonian. Couple of days back while using telescope , my 25 mm plossl eyepiece botton metal part accidentally hit primary mirror and small black coat inside of metal part of eyepiece stick to primary mirror. By 25mm eyepiece while watching moon , it look good. But using barlow 2X n 25mm eyepiece to see Jupiter on full zoom , not sure but i think that black coat scratch on primary mirror is shown in eyepiece. Please let me know, What to do: Does it really effect on light gathering. Do i need to clean it , if yes please tell me simple way, as i am first time user. Or it wouldn't effect the view.
@AVAstronomy4 жыл бұрын
Puneet Banga is the mark it left is small then the affect it would have is minimal of even noticeable, but if it bothers you and you wish to clean it, you can follow the steps I use in this video to remove the primary mirror. It should come out the same way.
