+Charles Gerber Jr. I just set up a TCP/IP port instead of WSD-3 and it is working now. Just find the IP address of your printer and put that in for the name or ip address block after clicking 'add port' and then TCP/IP. that SNMP protocol will be check on that port too. I don't know if you have to uncheck it, but I did just in case.

This worked! OMG The problem has been driving me crazy! I had to run the troubleshooter every time I wanted to print. The troubleshooter would report that the printer had to be turned on and when I had turned it on to click 'next'. Because the printer was on, I would click next without doing anything to the printer. The troubleshooter would then report that it had 'fixed' the problem and the printer would start to print. But, if I wanted to print something else right after, I had to run the troubleshooter again and go through all the steps. Your 'fix' seems to have really *fixed* the problem. Thanks so much!!!!!!!

Thanks for this tip. With my HP ENVY 5330, I also received the 'Error During Port Configuration- - but noticed the port below it on the list was for the IP address that the printer uses to connect, so I changed that one. Works fine.

When I was unable to configure the port, I used an alternate method, for my Win'10 PC. Select the Printer number/name from the list, Select the "Remove Device" Option. Once removed, Select "+ Add printers or scanner" option, listed on the top of the list. PC will scan for the nearby printers/scanner & will add it. Done!!. Hope it works for you guys as well. Thanks to the author for giving the hint.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! My Brother 2270dw printer just goes offline when it 'detects' LOW TONER, even though there is plenty of toner (The toner level is incorrectly calculated because I added toner myself instead of buying a new cartridge from Brother). It's INFURIATING!!! I resolved this once about 6 months ago by doing a factory reset on the printer (that was the advice from Brother...), but then I had to reconnect it to my LAN and re-establish the wireless settings. Your solution is much easier.

SNMP I've had this problem ever since i installed windows 10. and thanks to this video clip I have finally fixed this "offline" problem. However, i did have to make one slight alteration and that was to unclick the share printer in the Sharing panel. Once I did this I was able to configure (which previously greyed out ) the Port and un-tick the SNMP. From that point on my printer status changed and now i have a pile of paper spewing out of my printer from previous cued printing attempts.

What I did for my Konica Minolta C353 to Connect again: I did what you described in your video. But the problem was that the "Wire" connecting the Printing machine and the Router wasn't creating a connection. So, 1st) I unplugged the wire and Plug it back again in the router. and 2nd) I tick the checkbox ✅ [SNMP Status Enabled] again. and everything was fixed.

@opaul2108 жыл бұрын
how did you add an ip address?? can you walk me through please?? thank you
@laurieh51908 жыл бұрын
Updated: Hope this helps - For windows 10: 1. Right click on windows button 2. Select control panel 3. Select Devices and Printer Option 1: What I did: 1. Single Click on your printer 2. Select Print Server Properties at the top of the page (where you find "add a device) 3. Select Ports 4. Add Port and followed the steps to add the IP address. It needs to be your printer's IP address. Make sure this new port is selected when you finish. This has cured my problem. It takes a minute for the printer to still print. So, when you go to print, wait at least a full 2 minutes before giving up hope. I think the delay is due to spooling. Also, make sure you have enough ink too, because it also can prevent printing. I think this also might work: Option 2: 1. Select Add Printer 2. Add a printer using TCP/IP address and follow the steps I found the IP address of my hp printer by accident - I don't remember exactly how I did this piece, but I think I got it from a diagnostic test I ran on my printer. There should be youtubes on how to get an ipaddress too. Good luck!

FIXED, all better!!! BUT, this alone did NOT fix my problem, but I also discovered the IP Address magically had changed and didn't match what was currently on the printer, so I had to update that in the "port" tab, as well. Then everything in my queue started spewing out. I Googled it, and I guess you have to disable something so the printer IP address stays static and doesn't change.
@nilsaggu5 жыл бұрын
A much easier option: Follow the steps until @0:52, but after that instead of going to "printer properties", click on "Troubleshoot" which is only a couple of menu options down. Windows 10 fixes the issue on its own without you having to do anything further, it works like a charm on my Windows 10 system every time.

Got the same "operation not supported" error that others reported when trying to configure the port (Windows version 10 / 1909). What sometimes seems to work (maybe 50% of the time?) is running the Windows built-in device "Troubleshooter" app. It doesn't ever find a specific problem other than a low or empty toner / ink status, but sometimes something the T/S does seems to cause Windows to refresh the status and flip the status to online. (Is it possible that Windows stumbles over low or empty ink/toner statuses from the printer sometimes? I guess I should keep track of how often that correlates to these offline problems in the future.) Otherwise, I find I need to turn off the printer and computer, then turn on the printer so it gets established on the network first, and then reboot the computer. I have also had to resort to "removing" the printer from Windows and re-adding it, though that isn't too straightforward either.)

An Error Occurred during port configuration ! This operation is not supported. For those who got this message, my solution came from the link below. I just unplugged it for a few minutes. Turned it off and unplugged it from the back of the machine. When I turned it back on, it worked fine. The few minutes (like 5) is important, because when I unplugged it and plugged it right back in, it didn't work. Someone in another thread said "I just set up a TCP/IP port instead of WSD-3 and it is working now. Just find the IP address of your printer and put that in for the name or ip address block after clicking 'add port' and then TCP/IP. that SNMP protocol will be check on that port too. I don't know if you have to uncheck it, but I did just in case." That worked for a lot of people, but I'm not savvy enough to know what he was talking about or how to go about doing it. www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-fix-an-offline-printer
