Fix Printer Offline Problem

Great video, very useful. Print Spooler fixed my issue. But in process I've try all your suggestions. I couldn't get to untick SNMP because under My selected IP and "Configure port properties" got error message "this operation is not supported". Any idea why?

When I right click device manager I don't have a printer option underneath print ques like you do at 3:54 I just don't have a printer there at all. I installed the driver 50 times. What I do have is it says unknown USB device. That is the printer but it won't recognise it as a printer and when I try going through that devie to update driver the Epson driver isn't listed, even though I know for a fact that the epson software is on here. It says device descriptor request failed and I can't get it to see it as a printer.

You know what? Fuck this!!!! This is TOOO much fucking time for the very little we have!!!! i remember a time it was like so: 1. Buy printer. 2. Take printer 🖨️ out of box. 3. Plug 🔌 in power cable from printer 🖨️ to desktop 🖥️/ laptop 💻. 4. Start printing anything offline as long as you desktop 🖥️/laptop 💻 is, at the time it was dialup, is connected to some internet 🛜 and that was it!!!!

I updated windows 10 to spring upadate it do not afterward. It showed as offline I thought ilof it. I did have it today and restarted the PC and work again and I hope it does not make me any problems in the near future!

After literally 12 months of this problem, dozens of phone calls and chats with HP support, endless hours of troubleshooting, a new router/modem and STILL having this stupid printer offline issue, I am THRILLED to say that the steps in your video solved the problem!! I had to go all the way to the end (I didn't uninstall the printer though because my driver was up to date), and when I unchecked "SNMP Status Enabled" it was the game changer for me and now I can print! Additionally I changed the "Printer Name or IP Address" under configure port because it was off by one digit compared to the IP Address shown on the printer display. Thank you so much!

OH MY GOODNESS! This was the answer! After watching SO many other videos with no success... YOURS was the answer! Click off the tab for "use printer offline." I don't know how that ever got ✔️ to be offline but it was. You also mentioned about my computer being "grayed" out, which it was & none of the other tutorials mentioned that either! Thank you! it took 8 minutes to show the exact same thing I couldn't do when shown in 2 minutes in other videos, when clicking. "Configure Ports" I still get, This operation not supported. Now I need to find a solution to solve G before getting to F, and so on down the line until I get to A. Thanks

Britec i have a weird one for you.. i have an canon mg4250. when first bought it connected with LAN wifi(tower pc connected with ethernet cable to the router and printer connected with wifi to the router and they comunicate inside the network) and it was working fine. now i try to conect it again because it lost connection and it says it can't find the printer in the network but my friends laptop found it and i can print with my phone as well. i deleted all the drivers did the setup again , reseted the router, reseted the connection on the printer, did a million more times the setup, checked network was private anhd again the same but it will connect with the usb just not with wifi... and microsoft told that this was happening because my towr pc doesn't have wifi antenna :@:@:@ any ideas why is that happening?

I did uninstall for the HP Smart app- then reinstalled it. It cleared the app and allowed me to install my printer on the app from scratch- connected yay!

Sounds like some sort of driver issue where it's not being recognised because the driver's not installed or work in properly. Also the cable could be bad

🙌 I had no idea what was up with my Printer...it worked absolutely fine for years using it on and off and all of a sudden it started coming up as being Offline. I did mess around with my Network Sharing setting setting up a NAS recently so figured it must have done something...but I use USB and there's nothing there. Well the first option did the trick, it was Offline for some reason! Subbed👍

*Mine ended up being solved by doing this:* **Printer Properties **Ports **Click option Port with IP address **Click Configure Port **Port Name is greyed out with your specific network IP address but underneath look for "Printer Name or IP Address" **Printer itself has IP address and you type that into "Printer Name or IP Address" on your computer. **In my case Port Name was one specific IP address while my Printer's IP Address was another set of numbers. **Pressed OK and Boom! Worked.

followed everything up until the point you went into network settings ... totally different setup in Win7 and don't have some of the options you were using there. I have this very problem with my Dell laser printer and it's SO frustrating but I think I followed you ok. When in printer properties, configure printer ports, I'm told this option isn't available! So it STILL tells me my printer is off, even though it's not. :( It's using port WSD-17684 on mine (connected via wi-fi) and my dot matrix is on USB001 (which is currently turned off) but that's not been a problem previously so shouldn't be affecting the Dell?

Followed your steps, all is OK, but printer remained off line. Did the installation proces of my printer via an Acces Point wich turned out to be the problem. Installed it again via my Modem/Router and the printer stays online. Of you encounter the same problem, you could try this, it worked for me 👍🏻

I am still troubleshooting [approx 2 weeks] my HP Photosmart e-AIO D110 series; the was illustrating that both my computer and printer need troubleshooting; the troubleshooter detected that the driver was not installed and the printer is offline; then when I attempt to install the driver illustrates the best driver is installed on the device; illustrated that this device was working fine - I am confused about the problems because I was receiving conflicting information about the problem and solution; I uninstalled all the software and drivers associated with my printer; I delved into the command prompt and started removing files - at least a few that I don't use and discovered a new problem - learned that I can't delete or remove some software files and/or directories i.e., "PCMatic Trial". I disconnected/reconnected my printer multiple occasions during my troubleshooting sessions. I also learned that my HP printer is no longer supported under HP's Notice Web Services Stop Working on certain HP Printers, ePrint and Printer Apps are affected. For more information; View article - HP states if you want to print just install the basic print driver - that didn't work just as their stupid "HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows" doesn't resolve my problem. After the fourth or fifth re-installation of my printer's software - I finally was able to print a document, although "HP Solutions Center states the printer is disconnected"! I think I am back to Square 1!
