I think these methods only work on later model cars that seem to be made of really thin aluminum because an older car has thicker metal and cannot be easily popped out or bent back from the inside panel. I tried to remove a dent from my 2006 ford taurus driver panel and door but came to find that the metal is very tough to move with PDR tools that i ordered off of ebay. The only PDR tool that comes in handy is the little rubber mallet with different sized ends. To get the metal to move i had to pound it with a piece of PCV pipe with a toilet bolt plastic cap taped to the end. I used a hair dryer and the afternoon sun which seem to help a little. These new cars are made out of almost all aluminium and plastic, so of course its easy to fix them.

Lol... you should see the car that my grandad bought for me without my second opinion. I paid half, but little did I know that it has probably 10 of these dents all over the car. Scratches everywhere, not in a swirly pattern, but vertical. Then a day after the car was bought, my grandad curbed the whole front bumper and tore the paint off all the way down to the plastic. 2013 Accord 😂😭 causes so much anxiety, no one else will ever comprehend. There are scratches and makeup in the interior from the previous owner who I am assuming was a girl who wore too much jewelry lol. Buttons have paint that’s rubbed off, the sun visor is loose and had been abused. The door had makeup and bronzer all over it, had what seems like a knife cut in the lower storage compartment of the door. The headlights look like someone sanded it with sandpaper and put acetone on it. Looks like nail polish remover was dumped on the hood and on the trunk. Paid KBB value for it and needs at least $3,000 of Methodical DIY work to get in average shape.

Ok…someone door dinged my new car. Quote is $2050. Dent is size of pinky nail, but chipped paint in the crease of the quarter panel where it meets the bumper. So the bumper would have to be removed, etc…..thus the cost. I think I can do this and save money.

Doesn’t work. Don’t waste your time. Bought the tool. The glue doesn’t hold to both surfaces strong enough to pull out the dent. I tried cleaning surfaces with alcohol. Helped a little but does not bring out the dents. Don’t waste your time or money. Dents are not cheap.

Dent is not gone at all. Why spin the tab while applying hot glue? That won’t make a difference. Paintless dent repair is a skilled trade that takes much training and experience. How do I know? I do it Professionally for a living. If you want it repaired completely and not 50%, find a reputable PDR technician in your area. Trust me, you won’t regret paying someone. It is not as easy as it looks, i nearly gave up learning this profession myself.
