Our old roper was needing a new basket seal, timer control and clutch cleaned or replaced. Found another used one for $50 on marketplace. Cheaper than the parts to fix other older one and almost exactly the same overall. Keeping the oldest one for parts that might be needed on the one we just got.

Man I was scared to get into my washer but I'm not in the position to get a new one so I washed your video and dude it was terrific I'm really glad I'm only going to spend 20 or 30 bucks on parts I'm going to replace all of my hose clamps while it's open And one other thing; after 17 years on the safety committee I noticed you were wearing your ring on your finger when you were doing this. Please accept this advice and in the nicest of ways take the ring off never wear a ring when you're working on any thing. One of the astronauts from the 70s or 60s whatever was on his farm and he was getting into his back of his pickup truck he lost his footing as he fell back his wedding ring hooked on something a nail head I guess and he ripped his finger off. No of course that's not going to happen you but even still it's the last thing in the world you need is is that ring to hurt your hands. I don’t know if my first comment showed up but I was just saying I have this exact same model which belong to my mother. She passed away two years ago and so it has been sitting in my house for two years not being used the last time it was used it worked just fine, I decided to try and use it tonight and for the first time ever it is not washing only making a quiet light sound when I put it on wash or rinse setting it does however, spin and drain just fine just the same but it just isn’t washing if there is any advice that you may could give me please do so I would greatly appreciate it. I don’t want to throw it away because it may be something simple and cheap to fix but I just don’t know what and I don’t have the money to buy a new washer right now. Thank you so much.💕

My Roper just started this. It ran through Rinse cycle then stopped. Won't spin. No noises coming from it. If it's the clutch, about how much does an Appliance Repairman charge for parts/labor -- just ballpark? Thanks for any advice you can give me!

My washer was working except it stopped during final rinse cycle and started making a loud noise. Underneath there are 3 clear tubes about 2" long protruding down from bottom of my tank (visible in your video at 10:30 mark). All three on my washer have a pin inside that is loose. I can rotate and push the pin upward but there must be something missing to hold it there. Can this be repaired easily and what is the part called? There's also a 1/4" thick 8" diameter ring/gasket that doesn't seem to have a purpose?

What you are calling a washer, is really called a circlip to hold the upper white (brake) plastic piece that comes with the clutch assembly. Thanks, I think the clutch may be my problem. It wasn't the coupler! I would also add that the transmission is held in place by 3 bolts, not screws. Now to see how much clutch assemblies cost...

I have this exact model.The problem is it stop washing,it only makes a quiet noise when the settings are on wash/rents. It’s still spins and drains just fine. It just isn’t washing the last time. It was actually used it worked just fine. It was my mothers. She passed away two years ago to be exact and it’s been sitting up in my house for two years because I don’t have washer hook up I live in a small mobile home but I decided to use it earlier because I didn’t have money to go to the laundromat and that’s when I discovered for the first time that now it’s not washing only spinning and draining. If there is any advice that you could give me, please let me know. I don’t have the money right now to buy a new one and it could be something simple and cheap to fix it. I just don’t know what. mine washing machine has a burning oil/plastic smell when we wash clothes. it spins on small cycles but on big cycles with more clothes sometimes it gets stuck. any idea what it could be?

I remove it with my hand, but sometimes when is stock, I use my needle nose pliers to pulled it out
