And if cmd admin does nothing and you've tried the first two approaches and sfc /scannow doesn't work because it still says you're not admin, even though your are... what then? I'm trying to get Windows updates but get a message that says 'there's a problem', Any ideas?

@@oriel1262 yes I did resetting is the only way but since u don’t have administrator u need to do it by installing windows media creation on a usb and then restart ur computer with the usb in then follow the windows setup and u need to format (delete everything off) ur hardrive / and or ssd and then install windows. Back. Onto. Them . It’s difficult

My issue was slightly different. I tried to change my username but when I changed my username with a method online suggested it wouldn't register that my account was the adminstrator anymore for changing the username. i wasn't happy that one of my documents i wanted to share online would have my real name on it because the program was registering my account name on my pc and hence I wanted to safe guard my personal information however in doing so I lost my admin privilege as the computer was only recognizing the old username.

I am admin on my pc but it does not recognize as me being administrator. When I go on my profile, it literally says administrator yet when i run SFC it does not let me. Any help? EDIT: Guys I think I found a solution, so basically what you want to do: You want to go in the search bar of your windows 10 operating system (the blank bar next to the windows icon on the lower left corner of your screen), and type "command prompt". Once you see the command prompt app pop up, DO NOT OPEN IT!! Run it as administrator! There is an option close to the "open" option that is to run the app as administrator!!! Click on that option, and your command prompt will open, then try to run your "sfc/scannow". Tell me if it works :D!

@kara gyan You might be the admin of your OS, but that might not necessarily be the admin of the HARD DRIVE you are trying to make changes on. Go to Windows Explorer, right click on the Hard Drive you are trying to work/make changes on, select 'Properties', select the 'Security' tab, and make sure your account has 'Full Control' permissions.

you must have write access to your computer registry when you first run this progam. this normally requires administrator rights. please correct and try again

What you do if you have a reg file that will not open "as admin..." ?? Its not even showing on the list its only show merge, and that do not work for any reason. I have looked and looked no showing how to fix, the text type dude type in a way you think it going some where but end in the same, Force to merge no matter what. I gess its a windows 10 error type some windows 10 just have. I realy miss beening able to play a game that was 32bit, a 64bit Reg file was made, and this need "run as admin.." but the one made it do nothing to help, they must have seen this problem before.

My UAC controls doesn't even open. I ca'n't do anything that gives or has the UAC shield. Even when I download a program, I can't install it cause of the UAC shield. I can't backup or restore using the default system reset Windows 10 gives you.
