The video starts by showing you how to remove the front dash bezel on the Silverado. Then how to remove the gauge cluster (speedometer) and disconnect the wires. After that we disassemble the speedo cluster and proceed to remove the needles and change out the stepper motors on the for the tachometer, speedometer, oil pressure gauge, amp gauge, temperature gauge, and fuel level gauge. Once the new stepper motors have been soldered in we test the gauges and then make an adjustment.

Great video!! You mention home position when adjusting the needles. I have to tweak my tach, speedo and gas gauge on my swapped cluster. Do I just move the needles a little?

@Black1994ImpalaSS turn it till it stops and then turn a little more. The needle will slide on the shaft, if it doesn't work at first, just give it that hawk tauh and spit on that thang.

I don't remember what it was set at, most likely 650 to 700

How did you adjust the gauges? You talk about around (6:29) it but it's not included in your video

Just spin the needle on the pin (motor shaft) by turning it till the motor stops it and giving it a little more

Would I need to have the Sodering tool to complete this...or could I just pop off them off ?

The sucker? Being multiple pin I would say yes, there is also solder wick that can be used. Reason I say yes is you need to clear the hole to put the new one in all the way. I do think I could do it without... but this makes it easier. If we are talking about a soldering iron yes you need that.

In the link for the motors it gives an option for two different sizes. c27-168-A and C27-168-B. 13$ price difference so I assume they are pretty different. Which one do I need? 05 chev1500.

I've never checked a trans temp. Must be a chevy driver thing, I usually drive a dodge.
