Wow, I was trying to figure out my moms lower ice maker and glad you Posted this. I was looking in once I got everything g defrosted and thought there were two ice trays, one with an electrical cord hanging off but it was actually the one trey broke in half. If I can find another ice trey like she needs I will be viewing this again. Thanks for posting

Thanks for the video. I was able to reset mine because of your detail on how to take it apart. Before taking it apart, there is a button right in the center of the bottom of the front side of the ice maker. Holding it in will activate the complete cycle of dumping the ice and filling the tray with water. In my case, everything worked but the water fill. The end of the fill tube had frozen water make an ice obstruction that had to be cleared. I broke off as much as I could and using a flat-head screwdriver to clears out the rest. Of course, I had to wait for a bit in-between for the ice obstruction to melt a bit. Still waiting to see if it will complete the cycle before declaring it fixed. Thanks again!

This is the exact problem I had. This vid was the most helpful out of many others. I found a good way to keep ice from building up under the bin and causing the Maker to slam against the bin/drawer is to just duct tape the top of the back of the bin to the drawer. It isn't pretty, but how many people are going to look at the far back of the freezer drawer?

Everything seems to work with the motor turning, but the only way I can get the ice to release from the tray us to use a hair dryer to warm the tray, then it will go through the entire cycle of ejecting ice and refilling. Is the sensor the problem?

maybe the motor is not twisting it enough. Cheapest best fix may be to replace the entire ice unit.

Jordan, potentially. On my model, I have a panel above the fridge, found whend you open the refrigerator doors (not part of the freezer drawer.) There you might find temperature adjustments for the both the refrigerator and freezer, "power cool" "power freeze" "ICE OFF/ON" Let us know if you have a similar layout.

For my model all of the buttons for the refrigerator controls are at the top of the fridge inside the door. They control the icemaker, the freezer temp, the refrigerator, temp, power, cooling, etc.. Dumb question, but is it hooked up to water?

Thanks for the informative video Tony but what happens when you put the parts back together, the ice tray fills with water, but doesn't dump the ice out? It's been 8 hours. I verified there is ice in the tray.

Rich, ensure that your "ice off" button isn't pressed. Control panel for fridge and freezer on mine is at top when I open the doors. If that's not the problem, then click the reset button on the bottom of the ice maker. Should perform an ice cycle.

This looks to be the same ice maker as on my LG fridge freezer. Thank you for both vids. By far the most helpful of the 20 I watched today. mine works, but since replacing an inline filter a while ago, ice cubes are too big and staying stuck in groups of 2 or 4. I'm thinking more water flow is causing this since my old filter was more than too old. Any idea how to make cubes smaller?

John, For me, the problem was the foam insulator was not on the temp sensor. See if yours has a similar setup. I imagine they all are basically the same technology. If so start by ensuring that the foam insulator is in place.

Hey Tony. TY for the reply. All the above was checked. In fact after defrosting the fridge, the motor is silence, the ice maker on top works well, however the water does not dispense in the freezer chest (bottom) area. You think the line into the Freezer section frozen? Please advise TY

philipfm there should be a panel at the top of the fridge. (when you open the French doors) you will see temperature controls, ice control, power cool for both the freezer in the refrigerator... you should be able to turn the ice off on one of those buttons.

thank you, I have a digital display on the out side. Pushing the buttons the display showed two boxes marked ice on the top and the other box with ice on the bottom. think I got it now. I am hearing a light clicking sound, I assume its the ice maker shutting down. I hope LOL

Check to make certain the foam piece is in place, else the temperature gauge sensor won't work properly.
