If I could make any change, I'd actually want them to re-adjust the entire identity of Myth. Move minions to Monstrology, and then you can work on fixing minions as a concept outside of myth. For the actual school, I think they have always had a subtle but prevalent identity of charmbreaking, disruption, and trickery. Things like pip gain/stealing, the small than large hits that shieldbreak, the earthquakes, wrecking-ettins, ect. Even the stunning...Myth has always been a school of having a 'bag of tricks'. I think they can expand on that and realign the school as a hitter that has disruption.

but those things are useless these days too. there is counterplay to all these things nowadays. if you're 170 you probably have 40-60 pierce so shields dont matter. why pip steal outside ot PVP, when your goal is to kill the enemy, not to delay the fight? (ESPECIALLY in cheating bosses, who dont need pips to cheat)

I believe the reason you can’t stun bosses is to prevent stun spamming as a strategy. Which is so outdated lol. They should make bosses have a CHANCE to resist instead of full immunity. Or to boost myth, they could make their gear have stun resistance. (But god forbid gear has school identity). For minions I think they should cost less pips and have some feature where you can “request” what you want it to do (hit, heal, blade, etc.). Not total control but AT LEAST a way for it to be helpful.

Honestly there are multiple options for improvements... For example when summoning a minion, you can choose to give up additional mana (each 50 mana = +10% to minion's natural outgoing damage); give up as much of your health as you want, which would be converted into +MaxHP for the minion; option to stun yourself for two turns to give the minion stun immunity... Then there is the "I want you to attack this target" thing that they could do. So you wouldn't be able to control the spells minions use, but you would be able to set their target. Next if monstrology got updated so that you could craft polymorph spells of the harvested monsters, much like the moon school polyms work, that would be cool. And maybe you could infuse your minion summon with a shadow pip, which would allow the minion itself to gather shadow pips and use stuff like Mystic Colossus. Also there could be a thing like "Take extra damage for 4 turns, but your minion has extra defense for 4 turns", and of course the other way around as well. There is a large amount of things KI could do with the abysmal minion system, but alas... And if stunning is the second main focus of myth, then myth has just one main focus in minions, since everything where a stun could be potentially useful has stun immunity -.-

You gave some really good points and frankly they've been things I've considered for a while. I wish KI would implement these changes because that minion rework could definitely change the game in some ways making them actually viable. Controlling two decks would genuinely be huge! Also it'd be especially cool with myth's kind of hidden ability to summon 3 minions (currently only if they're monstrology summons), imagine controlling 4 decks man... It'd be cool if myth had this summoning ability added to their identity even just for normal minions too. I hope KI listens to this video

The reason you cant stun bosses is because if you have a least 2 players 1 of you stuns (boss gets free stun shield) 2nd player also stuns (removes stun shield) but the boss stays stunned. Rinse and repeat. That being the case just add a damage boost bosses get from stun spells to even it out. Secondly even if they could only give myth wizards the ability to “set” how a minion works i think that would be fine. Make it so its not usable in PVP, and give other wizards higher level minions that cost less pips, but of a different school like wallaru spells to balanceit out

Hey Noah, I watched this video and as a Myth main myself, I wholeheartedly agree with you on the Myth school lacking any sort of school identity. I made my Myth when I was a kid back when the game first came out because the idea of minions and stunning appealed to me. Back then though, the last world was literally Dragonspyre and up until Dragonspyre, one can argue that minions are actually quite useful at drawing aggro away from you the wizard. Do keep in mind though that Mount Olympus, and Zeus Gear, weren't out yet so stats weren't the greatest, thus making minions actually good. However, time passed, and we got more world expansions like Celestia and by the Celestia mark, minions (and also stuns) became borderline useless. Why would I summon a minion when I can just blade up into the kill? Even for a boss battle in Celestia, my stats are already good enough to where I don't need a minion anymore to remove boss aggro off of me if I can just survive the boss's attacks and one shot the boss (and the boss's minion) with an attack of my own. It just sickens me how poorly minions have aged given the fact that they don't do anything when you hit the mid to late game and get better stats. Overall though, Myth lacks any form of identity to bring it into the team of the other Wizard101 schools with the way it is designed now. You have damage over time (Fire), high resist, endurance, and shields (Ice), highest base damage in the game (Storm), drains (Death), supporting capability and healing (Life), and finally the all-rounder that does it all and also excels at blade spamming the team with lots of other utilities (Balance). Where does Myth fit into all of this? What is Myth's identity and what does it bring to the team? Oh yeah, nothing. It's honestly sad to say that the only reason Myth is even accepted on Wizard101 teams for bosses is purely because Orthrus is a broken AoE spell that does massive damage. If it wasn't for Orthrus dealing mass damage, and being a good spell overall if you need a hard hitting Spirit school, Myth would literally be exiled and not accepted on any Wizard101 team. Finally, I agree with your fixes to the school of Myth. I don't understand why 97% of the bosses in Wizard101 are Stun immune when myth is the one that excels at Stunning things. Let me Stun random bosses, but keep the major end-game bosses Stun immune. In addition, let me control my minion in some way so it's not useless and eats up my Traps. I really like the option you provided to give my minion Ai control to where you can set your minion to an Attack Mode, Support Mode, or a Heal Mode. That way, your minion will still use random spells as usual, but you'd have control over what spells the minion used. For example, if you place your minion in Attack mode, it will blade and trap into an attack. Support mode, it will ONLY use Blades and Traps on you. And finally, Heal Mode, means the minion will ONLY prioritize Healing you or using its other arsenal of Supporting spells to help you out, but it will NOT mount an attack and waste your traps. That will automatically make minions a thousand times more useful, even in the end-game. I need Kingsisle to take your suggestion on how to fix Myth because as it stands now, Myth has literally no "draw" to get people to pick it over the other six Wizard101 schools offered that just have better school identity than Myth does. I also want Kingsisle to give us an incentive to use other spells aside from Feint stacking into boring 4 pip and 7 pip AoE hits, thus making the other spells you learned completely obsolete.

I agree with all your points as old school myth used to be the main minion school and stun school. As someone who does advanced combat In this meta it seems like there almost starting to shift myth as like a shield and weakness counter school. For example drop bear takes away I believe 5 shields on opponent before hitting and myth callouses will get rid of similar amount of weaknesses on self before casting. It almost seems like wiz is trying to create a new identity for them because the old school minion and stun identity wasn't working out for them for whatever reason. You could also argue though that myth had always been a strong shield counter school already anyways because they have had earthquake and shatter for years. There is definitely some changes going on in the school and you can tell by how KI is designing the spells and what utilities they are adding to its identity. It seems like the whole game in terms of school identity is in revamp 😂. Its kind of interesting the timing of when this video came out because i so happened to personally max out my myth character and while i was playing it i felt almost kind of awkward. Its like hard to put my finger on but i never got comfortable using the school. I love all the schools but id even rank myth in terms of pve in my personal bottom 2 schools i dont really like myth either but i know a lot of people love myth in pvp that i might venture in to trying someday. I do agree that minions should be controllable or at least have some settings. They are literally called "minions" so they should listen to orders to some degree. Like I remember back in the cyclops lane quest, Cyrus was surprised that his trolls were rebelling. Cyrus insisted that it should not really like that unless someone else was messing with his magic. This implies that his minions should always be following his orders unless something else is messing with it. I would also say to let minions level up with the wizard as well. Because minions earlier in the game become more and more useless as you level up. Say they get stronger every 10 levels your wizard goes through? I can see a problem with being able to control monstrology minions though since that would be a lot of monsters to program and that it could enable players access to special exclusive spells etc. But they should at least let us be able control our normal summonable minions and not monstrology ones if that's the case.

I mean, menu chat has specific phrases like "focus (damage symbol) on (enemy position symbol)" or "focus (charm symbol) on (your position symbol)". It cant be too bad to just have minions do random moves, and then change their move if you say a certain phrase. If they don't have the spell in hand, then they pass.

This was a great video. Everytime i play with my buddy we always talk about how schools can be improved and I always talk about myth since its my main and favorite. I 100% with everything in the video. I always said give us the ability to control minions and let us be one of the only schools that can stun a majority of the bosses. One thing I think wiz got right about myth is the spell Witches Housecall. Its a hard hitting spell that summons a minion that can do a few different things and if we were able to control that minion if would be even better. Honestly just take the early minion spells and just attach them to other myth spells like frog or something. If this happens I want wiz to give us a new minion that has a lot of hp and can use higher grade myth spells. Just throwing this out there for me, if myth had an ultimate spell that would define us, I would want us to summon 3 minions at once and they do all different things like heal etc.

I think fundamentally, the best way to deal with the stunning problem is to give enemies stun resist *not* stun immunity. As you said in your video, I understand if final bosses can't get stunned (You really shouldn't be defeating Malistare by chain stunning him) but regular bosses should have some resist. It also makes Medusa (in PvE) worthwhile to use since Orthrus does the same damage for one less pip and is AoE. I also agree with minion control, though I think some minions should scale to your level. But then I also think that being able to choose what minion for what role would be nice (such as wanting a minion just for taunting + shields and healing) for support decks or a minion just setting up buffs in a boss deck. AwesometheSauce's Myth solo series really shows the limitations of current minions. While they have helped him (even preventing him losing some battles), as soon as enemies get AoE and start to blade and trap, they become a liability. Their only real contribution becomes aggroing. The only other school I feel like kinda has a similar issue is Ice where I feel like between Darkmoor to Karamelle, it feels like it kinda... exists? I feel like it should be tanking better with it being the "tank" school but that's it. I only finished Karamelle recently so I might be really wrong when I get my ice to max level.

Ice starts to get much stronger in arc 4. You're pretty easily able to get 200+ damage while having a solid 70+ resist which is just busted in terms of stats.

The fact that we can get stunned easily, and do not have any easy access to stun resist gear, or have to pre-emptively stun block or use conviction. Meanwhile for mobs/bosses its just "lol nice try nerd" Just sours the feeling even more in my opinion

The stun immunity later in the game is so frustrating! If KI is worried that stunning could be too powerful against certain enemies (I only understand this for the major bosses like you said), maybe they could add a less powerful but still useful stun that no enemies are immune to. Maybe like a pip stun, where X amount of pips are locked/unable to be used on the next turn. But even then, using up a whole turn to stall the enemy isn't that great. The whole stun immunity just feels like a lazy design decision.

My Myth has joined my Life, Fire, and Death among the ranks of being maxed out, and is now preparing for Selenopolis with them. I beat Lemuria on Ice, and am getting started on Karamelle with Storm and Balance. I don't see Myth having anything special to be honest. It's kinda like a school that is just... Simple... And that's all it has. It's not 100% simple, but without being able to stun certain enemies and having nothing but bogus minions makes everyone ignore its other spells, making everything else about Myth feel so... Simple... Too simple.

I've always been of the mind for a game that is considered turn-based that it shouldn't have stuns, the fact that Kings Isle is going out of their way to building stun immunity because they recognize that stun is too powerful and a turn-based game like this, then maybe they should remove the effect all together... And if they're not going to remove it, or if their intention is to leave it in for PVP, they need to add in more facts like surging our decks and affecting our Mana values or the cost value of cards via enchantments, etc

Fair to a certain extent, but if KI was truly worried about "being too powerful for a turn-based game" they would nerf every school into the ground as they currently are. PvE is so easy right now because every school is easily able to get an insane amount of damage and decent resist. On top of that the AOEs as they are, are pretty broken.

Another issue with that is that for example Medusa has its damage slightly scaled down due to it having the stun utility which makes sense for pvp but why would you hit a Medusa on a boss when you can do the same damage with othrus for one less pip

Myth's biggest issue is Mystic Colossus being nerfed in damage and no shatter all with shadow pip nerf too. The minions idea is excellent but you forget Wiz developers can't remove a glitched Fire shark glitched pet card in several weeks. You really think they can make minions made playable? Let's remember they changed the bank UI over a year ago and still has issues. Let that sink in a year ago for the bank/shared bank. Need I say "portal of peril"? These guys do well to release new glitched content, fixing sh**, lol. Stuns also a great point but KI devs don't know this game enough to care, they want to make a different game peeing of us long time players. Back to minions, monstrology is useful, but you got to do a sh** ton of work to level and for each useful minion. IMHO best case within KI devs levels of capability, they c ould change shadow pip chance in PVE and return Mystic Colossus, but they won't. They are just arrogant chimps. Don't care about this game beyond what they can change. Talk in game with randoms on wiz, nobody thinks they know what they are doing. Had a great talk about the "console" release one day they can see the fail coming, so funny, kids see what those "in charge" can't.

100% agree! Changing minions to be able to be controlled would be goated and they def need more minions to scale with levels. Myth has great stats (top 3 school for soloing imo with AOE meta) but it doesn't really have any identity outside of Orth being good and having almost as much damage as Storm/Fire with a bit more Health/Res. It basically just exists as an all-rounder stat wise with a good 7 pip and nothing else atp 💀.
