How to fix the water leaks in the trunk of the MX5 NC MK3

Most of the MX5 NC after few years they have problems with water leaks in the trunk. The most possible routes for the water to get into the trunk are from the brake light and from the tail-lights. To that aim, this video presents how to fix this problem. We use a SikLastomer 710 to seal the tail-lights as well as the brake light to protect the trunk from water.

Please don't apply suck kind of sealant, otherwise it would be impossible to remove the lights afterwards, use a non gluing sealant like the Arexons motorsil or simply replace the foam gasket

Good idea but if you ever have to remove the lights it's not going to be easy. By the way it doesn't need to be elastomeric , that means it can stand up to driving rain and since it's not exposed just a Butyl rubber sealant would be ok.

Το χαλι στο πορτ μπαγκαζ εννοεις; εγω απο τοτε που το εκανα δεν εχω ξανα παρει νερο στο πορτ μπαγκαζ. Αν εννοεις στο χωρο κατω απο τα καθισματα, τοτε παιρνεις νερα απο τις υδροροες της κουκουλας και θελουν καθαρισμα

Wow... that's a terrible way to fix that problem. Setting yourself or the next owner up for a terrible time taking things apart next time. Just buy new genuine seals. It's like 40 euros for all of them
