Okay. Go to device manager, expand Human Interface Devices, right click 'I2C HID Device' and click update driver. Choose 'Browse my computer for drivers' and click 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers...' Select the I2C HID Device. Click next and the device is updated . If your issue is like mine, you should be able to scroll after you restart your computer. Hope it helps.

I2c HID Device is the driver that worked perfectly. Update driver, select file from my computer, select I2C HID Device, install, restart. Fixed. The other solutions here did not work.

My touchpad pointer disappears when either I start up my computer or touch the touch screen. What works for me is to close the clamshell. Nothing else so far, but this method requires me to log in again. I would rather have a keyboard shortcut or not have the pointer disappear at all. Nevertheless, this is one more thing people may try.

FYI if you turn your laptop on and there is a red cross on the touchpad pop-up then you've accidentally disabled it. Just press the touchpad function key or enable it in the settings
