Great video. Just curious as to the reason you didn’t put a surface drain in the concrete in front of garage. Thanks

No water collected in front of the garage. It's really steep.

Thank you for the well made video. How much did this particular project cost?
@FRENCHDRAINMAN6 ай бұрын
@jchongrealtor I can't remember; this job was a while ago. It's an older video, but all our work is typically between $5K and $10K.

How do French drains work in colder climates when it goes from really cold to warmer? I’m in Canada and it can get up to -40 in the winter.
@FRENCHDRAINMAN3 ай бұрын
If they're built correctly, they don't hold any water, so if they're not holding water, they can't freeze up.

Just curious, why didn’t you use an outdoor sump in this project at the garage service door area?
@FRENCHDRAINMAN3 жыл бұрын
It would be less work It we used a sump system. If we can gravity drain we do.

I have a gravity drain sump pit in my basement. The peace of mind that provides knowing I don’t have to worry about water issues in a major storm when the power goes out is immeasurable. Even if you have a back-up battery on a sump system you still have to worry about it.

What kind of tape do you use? Is it specifically designed for drains?

Great video. I have this problem in Las Vegas, fortunately it does not rain often here but when it does. And no one here knows a damn thing about French drains. SMH
Have you ever done work in The New York city area? Asking because I am in the Bronx and have a bad water drainage problem and no one that knows how to help properly. I was told I needed an engineer but that is 25k before any work gets started.

how do you determine when to use 6 in vs 4 pipe
@FRENCHDRAINMAN Жыл бұрын
I honestly hate using 6 inch and sense this video, we use less 6 inches, and we run 2) 4 inch pipes instead.
