Hey Guys, It's important to point out that most of the owners of these models we've spoken to are wearing through tyres in as little as 5000kms one even wore through a set in 1000kms. The majority were getting at most 10'000-15'000kms out of the tyres which is shocking and means replacing them every year essentially! Tyres being on average $300-350 each you really can't afford to be having this issue long term! The other important thing to note which we have seen some people mention is that you can get a good wheel alignment to correct bump steer. This is NOT correct and will will NOT fix the bump steer issue. It will only mitigate tyre wear slightly, additionally it would require a wheel alignment on average every two weeks. On top of this you will still see abnormal tyre wear even with specialist wheel alignments. We know this because we provided these services as a workaround until SuperPro's Steering Knuckle became available.

That’s only when bull bars etc are fitted and not wheel aligned. I’m on 55,000 with one of your lift kits on my maxxis and still have plenty of life left. Feathered edges but more from probably not being strict enough with tyre pressures up in the Kimberly etc.

@@jasonwebber9811 This is not true. We have seen this issue occur on stock vehicles with no front load bearing accessories. However, once front load bearing accessories such as a bull bar is added, the issue becomes worse.

Good info to show the OEM should the problem appear. One thing to note be sure to check the wheel alignment upon receiving the vehicle from the dealership my dmax alignment as found needed correcting. 10k on and no issues so far.

42k km so far on Maxxis Razr ATs and I've done several alignments, rotations and 180 deg rotations to keep them alive. I reckon I'll get another 15k to 20k km out of them. I just had the alignment done to Isuzu's new specs (released 31 Aug) and will keep a very close watch on how the tyres wear. Absolutely disgusted with Isuzu in general with warranty issues.

If it's a design issue, even on a standard MU-X with no bullbar or suspension modifications, why are people like me with an MY21 LS-T 4x4 seeing our vehicles at 36k and beyond on our original tyres having normal tyre wear and expecting to get many more kms out of our current tyres.

From what we can gather based on community feedback, yes some people like yourself are not having any issues. However, there is still a large portion of people with these models that are having the issue and we're trying to help fix that for them. If you aren't having the issue, then you're part of the lucky group that doesn't need to worry.

By the looks of it, all the people who are getting poor Tyre wear are having their vehicles aligned by Mycar or the like that only know how to “make it green” with a set of factory specs, just like the apprentice at the Isuzu Ute dealership. A proper alignment is done by someone who knows what they are looking at and why they are doing it and the result of what they have done.

If the vehicle is not modified this is a consumer warrantee issue there should be no reason to go for an aftermarket fix. If tyres are getting excessive wear in 10 -20 thousand Km this does not meet the requirement of expected durability. Australian consumer Law requires the Manufacturer/seller to correct the problem if they are refusing to address the problem see your state consumer protection authority. I have suffered this issue however have modified the front end loading with bar work therefore I believe now my issue and aftermarket parts such as this my responsibility if I decide to correct the wear issue.
@FulcrumSuspensions1976

While we don't disagree, we know from customers experiences they have tried to get the manufacturer to fix the issue under warranty but have heard many people say they are unsuccessful even with stock standard vehicles. Some are able to get the tyres replaced under warranty, but only if they are the original tyres that were on the vehicle from factory.
@philbrittan761
@philbrittan761 Жыл бұрын
Manufactures will often make statements and attempt to get consumers out of the door or make some offer which is less than their obligation under consumer Law if you press hard. They are obliged to meet the requirements of normal/expected durability where a modification has no effect on the componentry. Hence lifting or adding weight to the front may have an effect and negate liability . Replacing factory fitted tyres with ones meeting the specifications in the manufactures handbook would not remove their liability. Liability may be to replace tyres and realign but would require a repair/modification if the issue is ongoing. Have any of your customers asked for warranty repairs and been refused with the support of their state consumer protection agency? @@FulcrumSuspensions1976

@@philbrittan761 It's difficult to say, but I have seen comments online from people with these vehicles that they have gone to ACCC with no luck. Mainly due to the large range of "tolerance" allowed on what is deemed suitable wear, for wearable items such as tyres etc. As even though it wears much quicker the factory suspension is still "safe". Not to say that no one will be successful and hopefully someone is but currently nothing more than the dealer agreeing to replace the factory tyres under warranty with certain conditions i.e no modifications, factory brand tyres etc, from what we've seen.

So the steering pick up is getting raised to fix it right? But by how much? Because wouldnt there be far far cheaper options running rose joint ends and spacers or long ball joints? This seems super extreme and expensive for something that isnt that complicated.
@FulcrumSuspensions1976
@FulcrumSuspensions1976 Жыл бұрын
We looked at just raising it with a spacer but unfortunately the mounting point is a tapered mount and you'd need to flip the tie rod end as well to mount above the OE mounting point, making the taper the wrong way. Due to safety standards and the above mentions the best/safest option was to make a new steering knuckle with the mount in the new position.

@@zarajoe1 from what we have seen its a mix bag in regards to the severity of the wear. We have seen some customers with a completely stock vehicle with no accessories wearing out their tyres very fast. Some only notice the issue when a bullbar is installed (or other front load bearing accessory). We have a noted few outliers like yourself who state they have had no issues (which honestly is great). But unfortunately if you visit any Facebook groups and search tyre wear, you are bound to find many people complain about the problem.

Priced it too high. Tyres still lasting long enough to not justify spending that much money just to save some wear. Would only pay for itself if you installed it day 1 and had the car for 200,0000+k’s. better off just putting the money to buy more than a new set of tyres

Hey mate, we know the part and install is expensive if most people were only going through tyres every 60'000km's sure it be too much to justify. However most if not all of our test vehicles/customers reporting the issue were going through tyres in 5000-15'000kms and a set of replacement tyres from most tyre shops is about $300 per tyre if not more. Which when you do just the fronts thats $600 for just tyres each year essentially, over 3-4 years you've paid for the kit. We've had over 50 customers already purchase and either had it fitted already or waiting for their fitment date because they were desperate to find a solution as they were spending far too much on tyres.
