how do i fix this same controller but when i turn it on the x turns white but absolutely no buttons work i tried different batteries and opening it and i couldn't find out what is wrong with it not even the x itself works after powering it on and i've had it for 6 years with no problems and never had stick drift untill this week all the buttons dont work

Just a hint, when I used to repair the old controllers, Nintendo, super Nintendo genesis etc. I used to scrape my finger across the contact pad and clean everything as you did but scraping the pad would refresh the top of the pad, many times. just a few scratches, would get rid of any dirt ground in, as well as the rubber would be removed a bit exposing the contacts.

I would try to clean it first like I did in the video. Otherwise, it can be the conductive pad that need to be change.

I do not have video about this repair but the D pad can be fix by changing the D pad buttons sticker.

I also have an issue with the right direction of the D Pad not working. I already replaced the stock sticker with an aftermarket replacement. The issue was not fixed. Any videos or suggestions to help?

Unfortunately, I do not have more suggestion then what you already did. Did you remove the old sticker before putting the new one on ?

So I tried on both of my controllers to see if one was broken but both have the same buttons not working : (from their use in the sims 4) down, lower floor, up, upper floor. I think there is something wrong with my xbox (please respond!)

I suggest you take it back and trade it for a new one. If it's not an option, do it still work if you press it a bit harder or not at all ? Did anything happened to the controller ?

@@RepairResell nothing happened to it, just a few minutes, straight out of the box the button stopped working. It doesn’t even work if I press really hard. Not responsive at all

@@thawg5500 Did it ever worked ? You would need to take a look inside to see if anything is different from the other button. Cleaning it from the inside or changing the conductive pad could fix the issue but it could also be a motherboard problem.

Really great video. I am struggling to get my B button fixed. I will use the alcohol and cotton swab technique that you demonstrated on the membrane in this video. Hopefully that will do the trick.

It should help to fix it indeed. Make sure to clean the B button on the motherboard too and take the time to compare it to the other button to see if you notice anything different.
