I want to thank you SO MUCH!!!!!!! Holy Cow! I've been struggling to get my Silhouette Cameo 3 reconnected. It kept saying not found, error, and I had JUST used it the other day. I replaced the USB connection cord. I bought a Bluetooth adapter, EVERYTHING. I was about to fork out another 300 for a new Cameo, and I came up on this. I figured it was worth a shot. Happy that this vid is silent! but a TIP for anyone making this type of video - stop waving the mouse cursor around and swiping it back+forth across the item whose name you're obscuring before you shift to another screen leaving us having to freeze frame to try to see what you're pointing at. It doesn't help to wave the mouse around or use that stupid puffball effect on the cursor either. Keep it steady and pause whilst viewers take in what you're doing.

Impossible to do without a PS2 port for mouse and keyboard! Today's computers have USB ports only. ! How about an addendum to fix that all USB computer ports.?.?..? I just ended up installing a new hard drive and put it in fresh copy of Windows 10. Now I'm transferring the few programs I had on my C drive back onto my computer.

This worked. I lost my mouse, keyboard and all of my usb ports after installing a piece of 'safe' software. I used remote desktop to get into my computer so I could fix it (just a tip). Also, this is a good approach because it reinstalls your old drivers, the ones that work with your pc.

My laptop has a USB 3.0 port on the left and 2 USB 2.0 ports on the right. Neither of the 2.0 ports work and uninstalling the drivers and rebooting the computer didn't fix it. What do I do next? Before they quit working, I kept getting "USB device not recognized" and my mouse (plugged into a 2.0 port) would quit working shortly after. Just in case that makes a difference at all.

There already wasn't "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" in my device manager, so how do I fix that? My mouse works fine on other pc's/laptop's and so are my headphones/speakers. How do I fix these things? The only thing that works on it is the keyboard and touchpad.

If you've watched lots of these videos but still can't get you're USB Card Reader working I have one more suggestion. I went to my motherboard manufacturer's website (ASUS for me) and downloaded the lastest chipset drivers for my model. Bingo. I finally got it working again. It seems to be a Windows Update that caused the problem. Hopefully your manufacturer has an updated driver too.

Neither the front or back ports work so no mouse or keyboard, but if I press F8 on the keyboard it will take me to the option for safe mode. No ports work in safe mode either. Is this motherboard or GPU problem?

I installed my host card and my PC says its detected and that its working properly BUT everything I plug into it only works for a second the stops. Sometimes it starts then stops over and over. Drivers are all good. Im very confused and frustrated. Its a Dell Optiplex 790 Mt i7, pcie slot with sata power cable connected. It has a green light that indicated that its on and working, when I plug in a usb device it reads for a second then the light starts flickering and the device disconnects. Please help, thank you!!!
