I factory reseted mine and switched the hdmi twice and I still have my problem... when I cast youtube I'll have the audio skip while the video is still playing and it's so annoying.

You have to use VCL player , , cast the desktop , in the top left drop down menu, under PLAYBACK , choose RENDERER.

I was troubleshooting the built-in "Cast" functionality of my Vizio TV. When I cast YT Music to the TV, it would sometimes skip. I just added the TV to Google Home interface and...it looks like it fixed the problem! Leaving this comment in case others are suffering from similar issue.

everytime I cast youtube the volume is all wonky really low and really high at the same time, my app youtube volume is fine, it's only when I cast, it doesn't happen with netflix or hulu etc...

My issue is that I have audio on KZbin and crunchyroll but when I try to watch Netflix or prime it doesn't have sound, it's plugged in a Artlii Energon 2 Projector 4K

EVERYTHING in this video is for noobs. If you know what you're doing and most videos have audio, then you may have the same issue I was having. Dolby 5.1 surround sound. That won't cast. I re-encoded the season of the show I wanted to cast so it didn't have 5.1 audio and they work just fine now. Hope that helps some frustrated person cursing at this video right now because it was a simple fix, I just had to figure it out.

It’s a codec compression problem. When the overall volume is too low the codec audio zeros out and it takes a second or so of audio to return it. I’m not sure which audio codec is the offender, but this happens with KZbin videos run through HDMI to a TV regardless of whether it’s Chromecast or Roku or a Pi running Kodi.

I have no sound for certain for Netflix movies the ones with surround sound. When I cast before the movie casts a message comes on the screen "surround has been enabled use your TV. Remote to control volume and it doesn't work. I don't know about anyone else but since the Google 12 update lot's of other things going south.

This isn't the solution I need but maybe you can help. I frequently want to cast my phone's audio to a Google home speaker. Not just the KZbin app but all my phones audio in the Google home app this is an option. However when I cast my phone's audio to my Google home speaker it only casts for a short period of time and then ceases. Same problem with my Google Chromecast audio device that I already own. I can cast my phone's audio and it will indeed transmit the audio over the intended speaker but only for a short period of time before it stops. Is this a problem or is this the only way you can have your audio cast other than using a media playing app such as KZbin music or tune in radio?

Does this help with KZbin movie rental also? I've tried to rent 2 different movies and cast them, but there's no sound. If I connect my laptop to the TV instead, everything is fine. 1st gen. All other videos on youtube works fine. Just not the rental ones. Thanks

I have the same problem exept the volume is so loud it's unbearable, and I can't change it. The sound is fine watching yt-vids but super loud when watching a movie rented on yt. Can't test it out with my computer since my hdmi recently stopped working.

I'm having a very weird problem, my chromecast works fine with KZbin and Spotify, but when I cast Netflix and Prime I get an awful sound, like white noise or something like that, the image runs well but I don't know what else to do, I don't know why it's only with those apps. Seems like the same issue that I have. It always starts when I use f.ex. Netflix, never ever if I only run KZbin or certain other services... But after it starts, it won't go away and will even affect chrome-casting KZbin, afterwards - unless I turn all devices off and plug out both the chromecast dongle and the electricity/power for the TV (chord). Then wait a few minutes and plug everything back in/turn back on, at least one device to stream from. Then I might be lucky and it works.. Or, it's without sound... Then I must do the same procedure again, until it all eventually works.

Sometimes i get no sound coming from the tv when i cast, so i found a solution it works for me. I simply cast to tv if theres no sound click disconnect (stop casting) and repeat until you hear sound coming from tv or device your casting. Another thing ive noticed is that its sometimes my tv, so just turn on and off your tv while casting.

If anyone is looking for a solution to casting the desktop to a TV via chromecast on windows, but having no bass. After hours of searching and reading online, I found that simply plugging a set of headphones into the headphone jack on my laptop made the audio work properly.

Hi. I have a Chromecast 2. When I mirror my phone within Home app and I start a TV app on my phone the sound comes from the TV and the phone also. Is there a setting for this because it's annoying? I've been having problems recently with the sound cutting out while watching a movie through Google Play movies. it was a documentary so it featured still images with voiceover quite a bit and I noticed that the sound would cut out and the video would be behind briefly after these still image segments. I suspect that this is some type of compression that is downthrottling the download when the demand for new images is reduced and then it is no longer ready for the live action video feed that follows. it's a very predictable behavior now so seems like there's something going on there, and it makes sense that Google would try to reduce the data stream where possible. Anyone else have this problem?

I have a similar issue but mine happens only when watching certain channels on youtube. Netflix and Motortrend is perfect always, the problem only on a few youtube channels like Cleetus McFarland, 1320video, driving 4 answers and 1 or two otjers. Its quite annoying it seems the sond goes to fast for the video and then pauses waiting for the video to catch up After reading your post I realised your observation about sides is correct. Watching some videos from driving 4 answers just know it seems to happen as soon as he switches to a slide.

@@hurterbe Yeah I was watching a Ken Burns video and there are a lot of still picture inserts with voiceovers and the problem was when shifting back to motion video. Really seems like the software is trying to optimize too much, or perhaps the read-ahead gets throttled back and the motion video becomes like a surprise and it rushes to catch up...

smh while casting it plays most KZbin videos fine but a select few without audio. When mirroring it plays those same problem videos audio and doesn't deliver a picture. It's frustrating because it literally happens only to my kids and my favorite movies. It can't be my projector because it moves in and out of KZbin videos just fine (both casting and mirroring) except for these few.

I’m willing to bet everyone with these problems use Spectrum Internet. I remember calling Google and they specifically said that was the cause. I then switched to Verizon Fios and the problems were eliminated. However my current residence only supports Spectrum, and thus these stupid sound issues have re-emerged. I’d do anything to go back to Fios.
