Woohoo! You helped fixed my Instant Pot! Thank you for the super clear video. It was so clear that it gave me the confidence to try this out, even though I'm so much not an electrical DIY'er that I had to buy a cheap multimeter and soldering iron to do it, as I'd never worked with either of those tools. Totally worth it, because my Instant Pot came back to life. Thank you! For future passersby having this problem: if you happen to have an InstantPot Ultra Mini bought around 2020, you need a T-15 torq screw bit for the outer screw (like in this video) and a SE139E fuse.

My cooker looks almost exactly like this. It suddenly stops turning on. I have NEVER done any electrical/soldering my entire life. I didn't even know how to use a multimeter. I gambled and bought the items you mentioned and soldered it with my state of the art soldering skills (😅). It was so BIG I couldn't slide the heat protector to cover the thermal fuse. But HEY my cooker works again!! 🎉 I couldn't stop telling my wife how great I am... 😎

Mine pressure cooker wasn't an Insta Pot at all, it was made by Chef IQ. However, I got a lead on idea what can be wrong with it and finally braced myself enough to dismantle and look inside it. And, surely enough - there was a little sleeve of thermoresistant fabric screwed to the bottom, which had a thermal fuse inside. Continuity - fails. It's prob like $7 repair. Chef IQ was kind enough to send me the whole replacement unit and didn't bother to get this one back, couldn't just throw it away because one pesky thermal fuse 😁

My 8 qt instapot duo just suddenly stopped powering up. It’s only been a year in service. How often do they quit? Is it safe to repair myself if not an electrician? Do any appliance repairmen fix them?

@enochpage1333 if it's only been a year it may still be under warranty as I heard the company did get bought out. Doesn't hurt to call their support line to ask. It's only safe if you follow correct diagnostic and repair but if you feel you're not confident enough to diy you can definitely take it to your nearest electrical repair shop to do it for you. Thank you for sharing your well-crafted video! I'm wondering if you have any experience dealing with an Instant Pot that powers on but doesn't function beyond that point. I own an Instant Pot Ultra Mini 3 qt model. This particular model features a control knob for mode selection, a cancel button, and a start button. When I plug it into the electrical socket, the control panel lights up, and the mode is automatically set to Pressure Cook. However, when I press the start button, nothing happens. Even attempting to reset it by pressing the Cancel button yields no results. I'm unable to select any of the 10 available modes; it remains stuck in the Pressure Cook mode without initiating any cooking process. Essentially, it's unresponsive except for the illuminated control panel. I've gone to the extent of disassembling the unit to inspect both the Control Panel and the Circuit board. My suspicion is that one of these components may need replacement, but I'm uncertain which one to address. Since the Control Panel does light up, my inclination is that the Circuit board might be the culprit. What's your opinion on the likely problem and its solution? Any suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for watching! Hmm it does sound like a circuit board issue. Since you did disassemble and most likely made sure all the physical connections are secure, it could very well be a short on one of the capacitors or resistors which probably requires a multimeter to each to test. If you can't return it or most probably its out of warranty, you could purchase another Ultra Mini and "compare" the boards, then do a return after you're finished... only a suggestion 😇

DO NOT REPLACE THE SENSOR TABS (just yet). Our Insta pot was showing C6L error. Follow instructions to remove bottom under plate. You'll see 2 metal strip sensors, 1 with black wires, other with red wires. Remove the Phillips screw that holds them in. Clean with toothbrush and rubbing alcohol the top sensors on the metal strips and tiny underneath copper button sensors below. Reassemble. It worked well for us.

Can this be fixed without a fuse..like straight wire it or something..I can't find the fuse anywhere

If you mean you can't find a replacement fuse then yes its possible just to wire without it but obviously its not recommended since it will bypass the safety mechanism

No you cannot...it is a thermal fuse, you may cause it to damage the equipment due to fire.

@@squishyhammer hello, I was having issue with the material sticking to the parts. I know you mentioned in the video you had flux that would make it easier to stick. I went and bought some and was still having issues. I have never done this. So i wrapped the soldering coil around both metals, put some flux around and place a heat shrink tub over then used the soldering rod to shrink it, while hoping the soldering coil would get hot enough to stick. Liquid poured a little before the tube fully shrunk, but it stayed. [It did feel a little loose]. I did that on the other end, and secured it with the metal piece to the instant pot. I tested continuity and i was getting continuity. So I closed everything out and the instant pot now works. Thanks to you, of course. Now my only concern is if the fuse will hold.

@@MKPROJECT2359 Well congrats on your first soldering job! I'm glad you got it working! It is quite tricky in the beginning but once you get the technique down it can be quite fun. If you wanted to try again I guess my advice would be tinning each of your wires first which just means melting the solder on the wire first with the flux, then it is easier to attach the ends of the fuse to it for a more solid connection. I'm glad you got the flux since it would have been really hard to get started as a beginner. Keep practicing! Cheers!

Its parent company also owned other popular brands such as Pyrex and Corning however Insta pot had to go through chapter 11 for apparent financial woes. Crazy times...

Unfortunately it requires some tech work... Theoretically you could bypass the whole fuse by twisting the wires together and use electrical tape but I'm extremely against that. Cheers!
