@@FrugalRepair Thank you very much for this great video. I have the same Duo 60 V3 instant pot. I got it in US and took it to India where the normal voltage is 240v. I got a step down transformer but my Instant pot didnt like it. It blew off. One of my friend checked it and told that fuse and varistor has to be replaced. In the circuit board, we have a specification for fuse 250vAC and 3.15 amps. But, I do not see a specification for varistor. I contacted Instant Pot customer service. Even they do not have the details of varistor. If you know the specification, can you please reply to me. Also, I am not sure whether the thermal cut off fuse is also gone. If you have the specification of the thermal cut off fuse, can you please provide me.

Thanks you very much! I bought this pot today at the Thrift store for $8, tested there and no heating. I was thinking a blow fuse but after I opened all the fuses and wiring was fine. My tester show continuity except after the Relay. I checked the other side of the board and was fine to me.... with the wrong glasses. So I ordered a new relay at Aliexpress for $0.80. The Relay for this unit is MPA-S-112-A and thinking to wait a month for it. And after I saw your video made me to open the pot again and remove the board ... with the right glasses. Bingo!! Bad connection (no as bad as yours and very clean around). Five minutes repair! It is working and cooking now with it. Thanks you again!

I just found you!! My husband is the LEAST mechanical person I know. He one heck of a musician, but curiosity for how things work? Not so much!! My Instant Pot took a dive yesterday, and I thought "I can't break it any worse"...so, here I am. Thankfully, I still have my mom's old soldering iron. She bought it when she worked on the assembly line, making DC9s. She used to practice soldering at home. Guess I inherited a bit of my mom, RIP. Anyway, I now have a working Instant Pot. I'm kinda messy with the flux tho....I guess I'll go practice, and scroll through your videos, and see what else I can fix!! (I vacuumed up my Christmas Tree lights. @FrugalRepair - Wow - thank you for such an amazing video! My 8+ year old Instant Pot started acting weird - firstly with not keeping food warm, and then just didn't enter the pressure cooking stage at all this morning. The front panel still worked so I suspected it was something beyond fuses like a heating element. After viewing your vid, I disassembled my unit, and was disappointed that all of the solder joints appeared normal. Figuring there was nothing to lose, I added some solder to the relay joints, and also to a resistor close by. My IP has new life! Thanks again, you made my day!

@@FrugalRepair Absolutely could not have done this without your video! Perhaps the root cause of this issue is too much current flowing through the relay that melts the solder joints around the relay over time? What are your thoughts on the expected lifetime of this relay - should one plan to replace it at some point?

My 4-year old Duo60 Instant Pot stopped heating and I found this video. I removed the control board and inspected it, looking for the degraded solder joint as described in the video. Initially, I thought that the solder joint looked OK. So I replaced the board and started looking around for some other failed component. I was just about to give up when I decided to have a second look at the control board. Using a magnifier, I could see the solder joint was in fact degraded. I re-soldered that joint per the video, then re-assembled, and my Instant Pot is back to working. Thanks!

Just 1 thing I noticed, you should have cleaned the burned solder area a little before you applied more solder. The new solder will adhere to the relay pin but it will be a problem again quicker than it happened the 1st time. I like to use either a wire toothbrush or even an exacto blade to scrape away the black stuff. After it's cleaned, more surface area can be soldered providing the best solder connection. It does have power, when plugged in it shows OFF on the screen, so I believe power is getting to it. The issue is one: Timer blinks steady, and two: no start hence no heat. Thanks very much:)

I purchased a non working Ninja Air Max and as rain was forecast for the week I thought I might have a go at fixing it and I honestly had no idea what I was doing. Strangely I took it all apart discovered the problem ( thermal fuse) and fixed it. However as I was in the zone taking it apart I didn’t record anything and consequently was a bit stumped how it went back together. So I joined a Facebook group dedicated to these Air Fryers and posted some pics of a big heap of bits and wondered if anybody knew how to correctly assemble. I was quite amazed at the response I was called mad an idiot a troll and very dangerous! So I assured them I would be putting it back together with or without their help and did! I also recorded the first time of switching on and everything worked perfectly. Nothing was said but a couple of weeks later I was implored by a few people to make a video of the repair, but alas would not be taking it apart again and I felt rather smug I must admit.

Hi, thank you for this video. I have the same model pressure cooker, used to work great, but suddenly stopped heating up the way yours did. The problem is the device works normally from cold state but does not once it gets hot. Does the issue have anything to do with the temperature sensor switch at the bottom center on which the pot is sitting?

Sorry, I'm not sure. It could be a pressure sensor, temp sensor, stuck relay, bad element, etc.

Help! I really appreciate your video but I am still not sure what to do. My pot is called a " Bella" pot, but the bottom looks very similar to the Insta pot. It has power but no heat. I use this thing all the time and really don't want to have to buy a new one since this is not very old. I pulled out the circuitboard and it looks fine but underneath where the wires connect to the bottom of this thing, there is some rust and looks like ashy stuff. Not sure if that is the problem.

Sorry, I’m not familiar with yours. You’ll need to track down if there is power going to the heating element and where the component(s) are that are preventing the power going to the element. Maybe it’s the relay itself but not a solder joint.

Mine turns on fine but will not heat. I do not see any apparent problems with my circuit board. Can you lead me what to look for next? I have pictures of my circuit board if that would help.

Great video. Took our unit apart but alas.....we fried the circuit board. Good news is that I can replace the board OEM for around $20.00. Subscribed : )

Thanks for the sub! Hope you can get it fixed without any trouble. We use our insta pot all of the time.

If we assume that the solder joint was fine when the item left the factory, I would be concerned about WHY the joint cracked over time. There appeared to be some scorching around the failed solder joint, indicating exposure to very high heat. I'd be concerned about that. Is something happening with the item that caused it to fail over time? After fixing the broken solder joint, I would wonder if I've moved the failure point for the problem somewhere else on the board. The next time it fails, will another solder joint fail, will a fuse blow, or will the item set my house on fire? I guess my point is: without understanding exactly why the solder joint failed, it is potentially dangerous to just "fix" it with a solder blob without understanding why it failed.

My Instant Pot suddenly quit heating, but the display screen still works. I'll have to checkout the circuit board. Thank you

Our 8Q model program board is not working? Do you have an ideas on the problem? Called company first, they just suggested to purchased new pressure cooker. Basically saying, unfixable. Appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks for the video. Very helpful and confirmed my suspicions of the fuse-able link having failed. Thanks also for the link to Amazon that told me the specs of the fuse-able link.

My wife's Della Pressure Cooker doesn't heat anything anymore. Is the repair process for that brand similar to the Insta-Pot?
