Completely agree 100%, up to that point you're really just flopping around in the wind. It's that eureka moment once it starts to click.
@gerthyfpv75774 жыл бұрын
Something I have found helps me a TON with throttle control, set your throttle midpoint between .3 and .35 and set your expo to around .4 This will allow you to hover with less throttle and increase the resolution of the upper 65%-70% of the stick.
@michaelc50274 жыл бұрын
@@gerthyfpv7577 It's a good suggestion, but your throttle mid point will differ depending on your quad. For my quads, I look for the position of my hover point on my throttle stick, then I set my mid point just below that, followed by setting my expo. Some people like an aggressive setting, I keep mine pretty mild at 13 and my midpoints are only at around the 25 mark. I do agree though, adding a little sag to the throttle curve does help in managing it a bit.
@gerthyfpv75774 жыл бұрын
@@michaelc5027 Yes I completely agree! For me it was a good starting point and like any other set of rates I adjust according to the size/weight and style. I tend to put a bit lower mid point with more expo into my freestyle and a higher midpoint with less expo on my 7". But everyone will have their own preference so it's always good to change it up and see what you like and don't like :D In addition to lowering the midpoint if you don't tend to use full throttle you can set a throttle cap and it will increase the resolution even more! Happy Flying everyone!!

Was literally practicing getting tighter power loops yesterday, perfect timing 👍 Also, I have said this before, but thanks for keeping this series going. I just finished building my first quad from scratch this weekend, inspired by what you have been flying - Apex, T-Motor F40 PRO IV, Ethix S3. Haven't had a chance to fly it yet as the weather has been really bad, but really looking forward to digging into all the tuning and getting a feel for the new build.

Hey, thanks for another great video. Can you do an episode on inverted yaw spin? It seems to be one of the tricks I really struggle with, mainly finding it hard to remember to keep the throttle at 0 while moving the yaw left or right which often ends in a faster than expected approach of the ground. :D Cheers!

Great vid again @VIC FPV. Any tips on how to how to hold your controller? I seem to tense up when flying for real as opposed to relaxed on the sim. I was watching your hands in the video and you seem to just stroke the sticks. Is it just practice or a conscious thing?
@VIKFPV4 жыл бұрын
That’s a good topic. I would say always wear a strap and just adjust it so it lays on your stomach that’s how you don’t tense up on the sticks

I know I dont have the skill to judge and I dont want to be mean, but I think you should try to not always go 100% on the throttle when powerloping. I think they'll look better if you would just go half and do it even closer :) Nice video though!
@VIKFPV4 жыл бұрын
This all depends on your setup and throttle curve. You need the power to clear the object so if you have a weak setup or the throttle curve is low on power on the bottom of your throttle curve you won’t clear it. It all depends on setup weight skill and what you are use to
@high008rise4 жыл бұрын
Yea throttle management is what is needed to powerloop properly but you won't get that until you get use to your gear.
@MoszuitoFPV4 жыл бұрын
I also think you can do it with less throttle to get lower to the object, but i am so far away from your skill level ... so what am i talking about. Great vid, great channel. Do more tuts and thanks for all your work 👌👍👍😊
@friendlynomad98404 жыл бұрын
@@VIKFPV I agree. I think tuning your quad to use full throttle on powerloops can really help with consistency. That way you're not accidentally using a different throttle value each time.

Throw on some 2 blade props. More "drifting" helps to get around the Object without hitting it ;-) So you can pich earlier and see more of the Object. More camera angle helps as well. But be aware of smashing it when you fly wiht your standard settings again ;-) I crashed a steel beam. 2 Motors, the Cam, the FC and the Frame.
