Instead of a stand for my wig head I bought a base that clamps to a table. Then I used a “hospital table” as my base, the kind of table that snugs up to a bed, is on wheels and goes up and down. What a lifesaver! I can wheel it into my bathroom to be near a water source and electricity. When styling or trimming, etc. I can raise the table up high to the height I want. I can lower it if I want to sit….you get the idea. So versatile. Plus there is space for a set of curlers, my tools, etc. can’t recommend this enough. Thanks for your lovely channel. God bless.

Hi Amanda! I love your channel. This tutorial is such a help. I just received a new wig today and out of the box it had a few corkscrew fibers mid-way down the length. Is this commonplace? This is the third wig from 3 different manufacturers that have had this problem. Could I use steam to make the repair? What would you do? Karen
@chiquelwigs9 ай бұрын
Hi Karen, since I don’t know which wigs they are, I can’t say if it’s common or not. Sure you can use steam to straighten them or if it’s a heat friendly synthetic, you can use a flat iron. 😊

Hi. Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but where can we get the exact comb that you used in this video? Also, I’ve heard of people using a silicone treatment to soften as well. Approve or disapprove? Thank you!

I have been wearing wigs and hair toppers now for about two years and this is the 1st video I have seen about steaming a wig. It was so informative and so well done! Please keep doing more videos like this. For example, I have a longer wavy/curly straight up synthetic wig that I love to wear in a french twist but it looks a little wiggy in the back and I love to pull some of the wig hairs down the sides but it's too long...how do I fix this? That would be a good video lol. Thanks for all your hard work in putting out quality videos! They really are fantastic!

Hi, would steam help calm the density. Sometimes it’s too much hair. Love your videos.
@chiquelwigs10 ай бұрын
You could use steam and a comb to try to calm it or pin it down with a clip and run steam over it.

Can you use a round brush on synthetic wigs with the steam to keep a bit of a curled under style instead of the fine tooth comb? Or even use the comb and then go back with the round brush and steam?
@MissKrisLoves10 ай бұрын
Yes go through with the fine tooth comb first to remove the frizzy. Then use the round brush to curve the hair. But then you'll need to prop it on something to keep the curve until the hair sets into place after curling and drying. I hope that helps.

Very helpful, thank you Amanda. I recently used my steamer on my inexpensive topper which I hated because it curled under too much, making it like a helmet, so I never wore it. The steamer improved it so much that I love it now! Just wondered, can I use the steamer on my brand new EW human hair topper or should I just use dry heat? Also, can I get my hairdresser to put highlights in my human hair topper or could it ruin it?
@chiquelwigs10 ай бұрын
You should be able to get your hairdresser to put highlights in! :) And you could use a steamer on your human hair I suppose, but I would just recommend using dry heat. :) I would suggest using a heat protectant spray for human hair before using heat on your human hair. So glad to hear that you love your synthetic topper now!! :)
