Learning how to flat twist changed up my natural hair game for the better! It took me a minute. It was sooooo worth it. It freed me up from depending on anyone for my hair. I can even wear it to work. It comes out neat and pretty. I am sure this video especially at this time will be appreciated. Thank you for sharing your technique.

I must be one challenged person. I can not learn to do any twist or braid watching a video. I know how to flat twist and it looks weird. I'm not good at flat twisting the back of my hair. She's the flat twist queen so good luck everyone.

It took me a few years of practicing and watching it before I got it. First I mastered flat rolling (looks like twists but no interlocking the strands) and then attempted flat twists again and they worked out. You'll definitely get there 😊

Hi Laila, I came across your channel today and was so inspired, i purchased your practical guide for hair growth. I thought you would give guidance in terms of how often to moisturise, wash and trim. Though these steps may differ person to person, but it would be nice to know what you did. Also, a product guide, unless you utilise the you tube platform for that? Your hair is absolutely gorgeous and i am so inspired to try some of your steps for mine and my daughters hair journey. thank for sharing all these tips!

I can flat twist other persons' hair; but I have difficulty flat twisting my own. Perhaps because my hair is long and 'tangly'. It just takes too much time to separate and smooth the top section as you did in the first method. It hadn't occured to me to stretch my hair first. Thanks.

This was what I was hoping would also be shown 😩 I need to visually see hand placement for twisting backwards and I notice tutorials never show that when that is usually the technique we need to create styles. But Laila's first flat twist tutorial was what taught me the basics. Just wish I could have seen the backwards one this time lol

Lelia, thank you so much. This was great and simple. I’m just too old, I guess because I keep trying to French braid. I will continue to practice. Is there a wig and a stand I can purpose to practice on, or is it better to work on my own hair. My hair is the length of yours and as thick. I’ll keep trying. God bless you Lelia for your time and patience. Y’all pray for me that I get it.

I TAUGHT MYSELF HOW to drive a car at fifteen, just by simply reading about it... At 22, out of sheer boredom and curiosity, I taught myself how to speak Spanish with only an activity workbook and a Spanish/English dictionary... I've cooked and baked complicated dishes that came out perfectly on the first try... I make my own bar soaps, body and hair oils, lotions and body butters for myself and my family. I even make a few dollars from it as a side hustle... But no matter how many times I try, or how many video tutorials I watch, I STILL can't cornrow or flat twist to save my life! I have two young daughters with 4d hair, and I can't afford a beautician. Make THAT make sense!🙄

Appreciate the tutorial, I was sitting here waiting for u to do a sample going backwards though😔 lol. Hopefully u will give a 101 on flat twist going backwards
@FusionofCultures4 жыл бұрын
Hey Nicola, it's the exact same thing. once you actually master flat twisting and it comes to you naturally, without overthinking it, you can do it in any direction. How you hold your hands will come down to what is comfortable for you. But trust me, if you struggle to twist up, you haven't graduated yet.
@nicolareid63624 жыл бұрын
FusionofCultures lol, ok I will keep practicing until I graduate 👩🏾🎓😀. What I receive from right now is to master flat-twist on my head then move on to different directions and styles. I’ll work on those things, thank u much.

When I flat twist, I manage to twist on either direction depending in the angle of my hands; and I'm right-handed. Is that ok and normal?!
