How To Flounder Fish Chincoteague Virginia (Tips and Tricks!)

In this video we head down to Chincoteague, Virginia to fish a flounder tournament with the Frederick Saltwater Anglers. The tournament spanned three days and this video covers day one. We will be giving you all tips and tricks for flounder fishing in Chincoteague that you will be able to use if you make the trip there. I haven’t been there in over 20 years, but I remember fishing there in the Chincoteague Channel, just off the island, and a monster flounder came up to the surface very briefly, just feet from our boat. It’s head was bigger then a dinner plate! Just MASSIVE! Had to be at least 4 feet in length.

I just picked up a 5.9 pounder today and a 5.4 yesterday and a 6.1 last week in chincoteage

We were mainly using 1/4 or 1/2 ounce jigheads

Ok yea I'm from middletown so close to frederick went there a few years ago and fished I mean hard all week 2 shorts I was using bucktails think mine were to heavy.

We filleted them up, used bread crumbs for breading and seared them in a skillet with some oil and butter. Used a seasoning from a local grocery store called Christopher's. They were delicious! Still have some fillets we would like to broil with crab meat as well.
