Yesterday I bought a tree like this , I've always had a real tree before and the kids used to decorte it. Today I started putting the tree up, wow, what a mess, I quickly drove to the shop to take a photo of how the shop had put it up, back home I was no wiser, started from the top on a chair , then I thought to see what's on KZbin , and Lo and behold here you were Kim, now I'll take my tree apart and start from the bottom. Many thanks from a 73 year young one 🤣😂😅

Excellent video! Thank you! I've been doing it all wrong for decades, no wonder I dread putting up my tree every year, and I only put up a little 4 foot cashmere tree, which is already pretty fluffy. Lol You were awesome and your instructions were on point. I just spent 2 hours watching instructional videos and nobody, at least of the videos I chose, actually said, "2 to the side, 1 up". They either said nothing and demonstrated only, or didn't have good verbal instruction. You are amazing. I'm going to fluff my tree now! (the right way.)

Do you have a video on how you mounted your tree on a dolly?

I don't 🙁 I can make a KZbin Short, if that would help. It's SUPER simple though. I just set it right on top of the platform on the dolly. I don't secure it or anything.

I just don’t like how my tree’s needles have flattened out or crinkled up. Do you have any tips for that?
@VeryMerryKim2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes a more expensive tree won't have that problem, which isn't much help I know 🙁 And a "cashmere" style Christmas tree will have stiffer/fluffier bristles. The best tip for your existing tree would be to make sure you're super careful when you put it away, smoothing everything as best you can to prevent crinkled branches. Sorry I'm not much help there!

Could you expand on the angle that you bend the branches and if that changes as you get closer to the front of the tree? Do you go more up down in the back and then forward as you get closer or stay up and down?
@VeryMerryKim Жыл бұрын
I think I do bring them a little more forward as I go out. I just try to make them look as natural as possible on the far ends of the branches.

@VeryMerryKim2 жыл бұрын
Shatterproof for sure, if you want the traditional Christmas balls. You should be safe if you keep things plastic instead of glass. And honestly, if you wire things to your tree, instead of using regular hooks, things won't fall off. I talk about it in my ornament video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKDJh6lqftSlqtE Hope that helps!

Is it easier for pre lit trees to plug in your lights before you shape it?
@VeryMerryKim Жыл бұрын
That'll depend on the person. For some, it's easier to see unfluffed spots with lights on, for others it'll be easier with them off. I fluff with lights on because it can be easier to get to the plugs if it's the kind of tree where you have to plug the sections into each other.

I've been doing the two out/one up for years with our tree. Then my wife got a new tree this year. And the manufacturer threw me with a new wrinkle. Instead of three stems at each point, this one has FOUR stems. So there I was trying to figure out two out/two up, or two out/one up and one down? I finally settled on two out and two up, each at a 47.5 degree angle to the "out" stems. It took a lot longer having to use a protractor while floofing. So, Expert Kim, do you think that was the right thing to do? My inquiring mind wants to know.
@VeryMerryKimАй бұрын
If you like how it looks, it was the right thing to do! If it doesn't look the way you want it to, I would try 3 out 1 up, or 2 out 1 up 1 somewhere in between up and out, if that makes sense 😂

That's why I say the two up and one out is where I start. After I do a branch I move things around until it looks how I like. Sometimes that means I angle one down. Try not to overthink. I promise your tree will be beautiful!

If you’re propping it against a wall, like you had planned to do with this one, would you floof those branches still? I’m planning on doing that this year since space is now a concern but I want my big tree up.
@VeryMerryKim2 жыл бұрын
If I'm attaching them up against the tree, I might floof some, but only to the side. Like two out, one up, but no up. If I'm leaving the branches down, then I'd floof normally. It'll help the tree look fuller.
