John, the way you mounted the Lowrance AI transducer, you are going to need to go into the set up menu on the HDS unit and select “flip left and right” They are desined to be mounted on the back of the boat with the cable facing the transom. If you don’t do that then what you think is on the right will actually be on your left because of the orientation of the transducer.
@JohnCrews3 жыл бұрын
You are correct. I always idle by a bridge to make sure I have proper orientation

Great video. Just curious as to the advantages to using the flush mount vs transom mount?
@JohnCrews2 жыл бұрын
I like it better because it is tucked up in the step portion so I think it is more protected than being further back.
@danielcallaway7764 Жыл бұрын
You don't have to make any adjustments to how level the transducer is or its placement doing it this way it will always be level with how your boats sitting.

I would like to see how you install the hummingbird transducer on the jackplate.
@JohnCrews3 жыл бұрын
It’s very simple. It just bolts on with the transducer saver shield

Mounting your 3 in 1 like that will regular sonar read up on plane. I have a Ranger 518vx & want to mount mine like that. I have a Garmin 93sv depth finder. Thanks in advance for your input.
@glenndaugherity6187 Жыл бұрын
No it will not you’ll lose the reading when on plane. If you want to still read at high speed then it has to be mounted off the transom and adjusted perfectly. 👍

My Puma STS just arrived and Im doing my own electronics. How did you run the cable into the hull in the back? Did you drill new holes. If so what rubber plug did you use?
@CB4basser13 жыл бұрын
You have the humminbird mounted on the jack plate so you can't Mount the Lowrance on the other side of the Jack Plate obviously (for interference yeah), so my question is screwing it into the bottom of the boat are you actually going to have depth at speed now mounting it in that location? My 3 in 1 is currently mounted to my jackplate and I don't get a reading on plane because it's out of the water.
@JohnCrews3 жыл бұрын
It’s mounted on the integrated set back portion of the hull, not the running surface. It won’t read while running

Hi, While I woukd probably prefer a B and G Forward Scan, impossible to get atm. I have two Lowrance 3 in 1 and blown away by the imaging. I go into anchorages and believe it would be great to have the level of security in nit hitting a rock, especially in the dark. My boat is a Bavaria 44, 2 metre keel, any one see a peoblem in I using the transducers on it? Many thanks for sny advice! :-)

I'm new to fishfinders ... I'm buying a hds live, for my 15ft aluminum gregor .. it comes with the 3 in 1 transducer .. it doesn't have a step or a jack plate tho ... I want the hds live because it's compatible with my xi3 trolling motor ...... so it's my understanding that the 3 in 1 will not read anything at speed? ... so I'm curious how to mount the 3 in 1 on my style of boat , and if I can plug in a second transducer next to it that is better at scanning at speed .. and can I plug them both into the hds live unit without interference?

I think water will be cavitation in the space you mounted it as well it will be susceptible to road debris stones etc

John I'm also trying to find the flush mount part that you used ? Any help in obtaining one or is it the metal one shown for the 3D our only option?

It is on the Lowrance website. There is only one option. Thanks

How do you stop the Interference between helix and lowrance SI ? Lowrance is set on 455 and helix is set on mega. Thanks
@JohnCrews3 жыл бұрын
I had same transducer setup last year and had zero interference. I stagger the transducer so they each have their own space- they are not side by side and shooting the same water. One is in front of the other so I think that is key

hello, sorry for the inconvenience, I wanted to ask you for advice, I bought a hdslive9 with the spnda imaging.3-1 and I wanted to ask you for advice, I saw that it contains 4 types of frequency (high chirp-medium- chirp/ 83e 200) I practice trolling with live snapper on a seabed ranging from 50 meters up to 90, for this type of depth which frequencies should I use? should I use only one or at 50 one frequency and at 90 another type of frequency?, I accept valuable advice thanks

great video. I'd HIGHLY recommend against silicone anything for a boat. use 3M 5200 or 4200 polyurethane sealants instead. perhaps go a size bigger on your pilot drill bit. I like to use a screwdriver so I can feel how tight its getting. but I cringed when you said the screw was getting hot. your probably close to snapping a head off a screw at that point, and that's not fun to get out.

Nvm, I see your step is lower than the rest of the stern. On my ranger the step is slightly higher then the left and right sides of the stern.

How about interference with the mega 360 and livescope? I have got some sonar interference from my mega 360 on my active target. Just wondering if you had any with the garmin. Thanks
@JohnCrews3 жыл бұрын
360 interferes with both Active Target and Livescope. Getting them as far apart as you can helps a little. I’m trying some new things this year to help so we will see. I’ll do a video on it if it helps

How do you get optimal picture with the transducer flat on the bottom of the boat? For the crystals to be pointed down you need to have the transducer at the same angle as the boat sits in the water when you are idling...boats set nose high so the transducer cannot be parallel with anything on the bottom of the boat and give you the optimal picture.
@JohnCrews3 жыл бұрын
Bass Cat makes the surface on that step portion parallel with the water so it works great. It’s nice when the people designing the boats actually fish.
@dariusking29273 жыл бұрын
