I prefer to not add brake fluid to the motive, just use the air pressure from the motive, makes clean up much easier. The only thing, you'll have to check the level in the car's reservoir, you'll probably have to top it up once or twice during the bleeding. Great video, thanks for doing this.

Thanks for the thorough demonstration. I'm tackling this on a 2006 V70. One thing, I would have sealed off the test apparatus and pressurized again to verify the leak was from it and not the system.

Thanks for this clear and concise video. Exactly what I need to to start working on my newly acquired X90. It came with 37 faults included (lot of brake stuff), so I bought the items you suggested and I am planning on getting the Orbit software. I don't quite understand CEM PIN retrieval. Do I need that for diagnose and repair?

You will need the pin for the CEM to retrieve any codes or make modifications. For me, it was worth the extra money to have the orbit team retrieve it for me.

@DIYEVERYTHING great video! question - do you have you have to retract the rear electronic parking brake in maintenance mode and compress the front brake pistons when doing this bleeding? Or don't bother with doing that?

If you're just boarding the brakes then no, you don't need to retract the pistons.

what about ESP? Those valves are closed , so no brake fluid can go through them....

ESP is electronic/automatic activation of the brake system in an emergency or with adaptive cruise control. The fluid entering the reservoir passes through the ABS unit and out through the caliper. The method I used flushes the entire system.

What about the ABS cube bleeding?

The brake lines go from the master cylinder to the ABS unit and then to each wheel. So this method flushes that unit as well.
