Local ‘Volvo specialist’ shop was going to charge me $500 to replace the Aux battery. I watched your video and then grabbed a replacement battery for $92 at the local O’Reilly. Took me 15 minutes to replace! And I’m probably the least handy guy in town. Thank you! Side note, my fan speed on my AC system would not function at higher speeds. That is until I replaced the Aux battery, now it works perfectly! Btw, the local volvo specialist said the problem with the slow fan speed was probably due to a leak in one of the AC hoses which they would gladly fix for $700 and that would be a great start to finding out what the problem with the AC was. So instead of $1200 of repairs I’m out $100. Thank you!!!

I’m based in Switzerland and have a 2016 Volvo XC90 T6 Inscription. Immediately after the last service the Start/Stop service warning appeared. Unfortunately my two most local Volvo dealer/service are not the best or most honest, so I wanted to see if I could fix this myself. I could not find any european websites where I could buy a new replacement online, but I found it on the FCP Euro in the US. The price and delivery costs were good, so I ordered it. In less than a week it was delivered to me here in Switzerland (14th June 2021). The battery had a manufacture date of May 2021, so brand spanking new. I fitted it today and took the car for a test drive to find that the Start/Stop warning no longer appears without me having to reset anything, and the start/stop function now works perfectly. Many thanks to FCP Euro for the excellent service and for helping me to save time and money by not having to go to a dealer and have it done ‘professionally’. 👍

For anyone else messing around with this after not driving much if you check your battery and it shows good voltage of 12.6 or so but the warning light stays on... it takes ages to disappear. In my case over 5 long journeys over a couple of weeks. Out of interest I decided to invest in a cheap smart charger for agm batteries. It shows the battery has around 50% charge and merrily sorts it out. After much messing the warning light comes on when the car has around 80% charge however both batteries are connected on a common circuit so it could also be your main battery in the boot causing it. The short answer is spend £50 on a smart agm charger or drive more often. The alternator will never 100% charge the batterys and it doesn't even matter if you don't use stop start. You don't need to reset anything

My 2019 S60 is doing exactly this. I just went out there and the voltmeter registered a 12.3 on the aux battery under the hood. You won't lose memory changing the auxiliary battery, as it's only responsible for the auto start/stop system, not the car's main computer. Also, are you measuring the voltage while the car is off? Because 14v its way too overcharged. If the car is running you're not measuring the voltage of the battery, you're measuring the voltage at which the Dynamo is charging the battery (for which 14 is okay). If the car is off and it's measuring 14 after driving for a while go get your Dynamo checked as it might be overcharging the battery, which if taken to an extreme could make the battery explode or at the very least make a cell go bad(which means the battery is dead for good).
