You reduce to climb thrust too early. Climb thrust is engaged at 1500ft plus the altitude of the airport. So in Gatwick's case you should engage climb thrust 1703ft

Froogle I appreciate the airbus series you have made. I picked up the a-319/a-318 and love them!! I don't know why, but I find it a whole lot easier to manage than the ngx when I'm by myself. I might have to pick up a copy of fs2crew for the ngx.,,,,

You can either look it up with your weather add on if you are using one, or bring up ATIS for the airport you are at - they will tell you the reference number to set there.

There is a button that you press labelled T.O. Press it. The displays will then configure for Take Off.

That's a better solution, thanks Froogle! I wonder if this is how it is in an Airbus, or is it a bug in the AXE? In a Boeing, you would have gotten an "Unable to achieve TGT Alt" warning, when you first programmed the FMC..

hey froogle just a question here, 1st. I've got my speed managed and my altitude managed, showing dashes and a dot for my speed indication, and for my altitude my FL followed by a dot, but my Heading indication always shows me a heading of 125 even if i configured my flight plan, how do i get my heading managed? (dashed and dotted up). 2nd, my aerosoft airbus x doesn't seem tp follow the speed and altitude constrains and limitations. where could i have gone wrong? would look forward to your help and advice. thanks alot.!

I've heard of a lot of problems with throttles in this aircraft. Please check out the Aerosoft forums for more info and hopefully solutions.

Something of a flaw in the pre-recorded ATC that the Aerosoft Airbus plays back - it's not localized to your airport unfortunately.

I think he's going to have trouble with the last part, since he set his cruising altitude to FL330 which is way too high for this flight (He noted it in the first video, it should have been FL210). He's going to have a hard time to to make the descent, so he's probably going to have to go into a holding pattern descent to make it up.

0.7 for all my views except external where I will typically set 1. I too have a problem reading some of the displays which is why I always set up a few views that physically move the camera closer to the screens in question.

Tanks a lot! Does this work on the older version of airbus x? I've got it from a frend, but it,s the older version, but the cockpit just looks a bit different. The onley thing, it always overshoots the airport when flying the star.....

In the Airbus this is automaticaly managed by the computer. The only Anti-Ice features you have to controll manualy are Engine and Wing Anti-Ice

One thing I've noticed on my run through this. After the aircraft no longer has an ALT constraint on yours it switches to climb however, mine switches to vs 300. Is there something I'm missing here?

Hey froogle am I correct in saying when you put stick input in the airbus there is no need to hold the stick in z position you can let go and the airbus will stay at angle inputed?

You need to click to turn on the pilot and first officer first.

Sounds liek you are not running in managed mode (dot to the right of the altitude when you take off).

I have just one more question for you, I often get stuck on the check list when it asks for a baro reference. Unless I let the copilot do it for me, I really hate doing that. Do you know where Airbus pulls that baro reference from?

I followed this tutorial religiously step by step, when I left the RW I straightened up on the pink link on the flight display and then selected auto pilot.....I turned right instead of left and headed in the opposite direction!!! Any ideas where I might have gone wrong?

I've been trying to do this exact flight but after take off, right as it turns off runway heading just as it hits the first waypoint on the SID the AP freaks out and goes WAY off course, over speeds, warnings like crazy.

For some reason it seams like the R177 waypoint throws this little dogleg on it that throws the AP off, if I clear that one out it works fine.

Can someone please possibly give me an answer to my problem I am having with my Airbus X. I have downloaded the latest update (1.22), but when i load the Airbus, i cant use the right side CDU. None of the buttons work, and i have re downloaded the plane again to see if it would help but it didn't. And i cant seem to pick and SIDs or STARs. When i click on the departure and arrival airports in the flight plan page, nothing happens. So i can't really do a flight which makes me sad. Thank You.

If your PFD shows TOGA LK on the top, Dissengage the autothrottle and bring the thrust lower. Then set climb thrust and put the ATHR back on :P
