I would recommend NOT using the servers to learn how to fly the aircraft. There's far too much to work out and practice without adding in staying out of people's way and not getting shot down. Use the "Quick Missions" and get comfortable with flying and navigating and not killing yourself. Then try a "Career" against the AI to get used to developing and using situation awareness in combat. After all that, it's less likely to be super frustrating putting your arse on the line on a server with real, highly experienced opponents. It's not Kandy Krush. This game takes patience to learn. Good luck!

Buy a HOTAS joystick and throttle and map everything to switches, buttons, hats, and axis so you never have to use all those keyboard binds. I rarely use my keyboard except for a few things.

I bought a StreamDeck a while back for DCS. It's awesome for games like this. You can make your own labels with images or text and organize them. No need to memorize keybinds any more. I usually put things like Gear, flaps, or special buttons that you may only use once a flight

Try using the pilot head zoom keys to zoom out. You'll get a better field of view. You can also have a key for quick zoom to quickly zoom in and out to see things better either way.
@Turloghan10 ай бұрын
This is the worst way to get zoom in plane, cause its takes your time to click buttons to achieve specified zoom. When you using TrackIR or headtracking , you can achieve needed zoom by only 3cm ahead head move for example just by rights "Z axis" configuration of your config file for OpenTrack. Now i didn't need to use any key to zoom from wide view of cockpit to zomm when i see only reticlr sight. I can watch my back normally without zoom , but when i need to zoom backward view i just move little my head to camera direction (around 3cm, maybe 5cm) to get complete closer zoom view of plane behind me. When im attacking ground targets , i can zoom to reticle view to better see targets , drop bombs, than instantly come back to see whole cockpit. So key binding method is completely outdated, when you have OpenTrack program with competent axis profile config.

I recently started using AITrack/Opentrack and it's immensely better as it frees up buttons and actions dedicated to just looking.

Great video. What hardware are you using to track your head movement as you look around? I've never seen anything like that.

It's called TrackIR :)

Everything is OK in your explanations, but WHY You didnt use trimming for stabilization of plane to make you less working by joystick to keep plane in level or in climb for example?

there's no actual Tutorial in-game? to give a quick guide on how to start up the plane and all the buttons, and leavers you have to push, you know on screen pop on which Keys to push to guide you?, least Ur calling out which keyboard keys to press in this How-To, thank you, man I saw 5-6 videos and none call out keys to press or put them up on the screen for the viewer to see there are very very few videos, so far its only Ur's and this other one I juz finished watching.

No, that's how fucking pathetic this game is. People will go on at length about how 'realistic' it is, whilst conveniently forgeting that jumping straight into a plane with zero training is the most unrealistic thing ever. How difficult would it be to have a training mode that walks you through the controls and binding setup etc, and maybe profiles for people using using a fucking joystick and VR.?? I got a refund, there's no way those pretentious ignorant pricks are getting any money from me, but imagine how much more money they'd make if they had the common sense to actually help people that don't want to spend 2 years learning to play their shitty 'game' with zero guidance...

I'm trying to play the tutorial solo flight to be able to take off but it doesn't work like in the video, pressing E does nothing.

Thats been my experience in Il2. Hardly anything seems to work.
@madigorfkgoogle93492 жыл бұрын
you have to check out the settings and key-binds if "E" is set to ignition. Also some planes needs to have some (3-5%) throttle applied before ignition, and some planes first needs to be set at full rich fuel mixture before ignition, if you fly on full reality. Most easy planes is FW-190, everything automatic, just one minor "catch", to maintain on ground directional stability you have to lock the rear wheel by pulling and holding your stick up until around 100kmph... Good flight.

been trying to play 46 but its so complicated. Any way to play these games with mods to simplyfy the controls? Also the AI is obviously able to do most of this engine management super fast. Any mods to make the AI more realistic? Its physically impossible to min max on their level or should i just go back to Il2 (it honestly looks better here than 46 does on my system)

Got this game like two weeks ago. Was trying to get a helpfull video on prop pitch.. If prop pitch and prop rpm are the same why do they have different keybinds ? I think that prop pitch + rpm +eng-rpm = stress on engine. 2nd you should maybe do some trimminng or at least explaine it if you cover these basics. And 3rd maybe do a tutorial in a more controlled environment next time instead of a combat situation. Don't want to too harsh on you sorry, I otherwise like the style, just does'nt seem to be very thought out.
@JoyplanesRC14 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for commenting, I'm not actually sure why engine RPM and propeller pitch is different, but the clue might be that in real life the RPM is a setting to "tell" the engine what RPM you want, but the governor has some limits to protect the engine so in the end, you are not controlling the pitch directly, and the pitch is direct control, at least that's how I understand it and I might be wrong. I sometimes play, so I haven't made a video in a month now, but I'll make some soon.
@British-Dragon-Simulations4 жыл бұрын
Propeller pitch is different to propeller RPM. Pitch is the angle of the propeller. You can see the prop pitch changes in the BF-109's clock dial. The governor changes it automatically to keep the RPM constant. You can switch pitch to manual for better fuel consumption and less prop wash for safer taxi and take off. You can even use the pitch to lose speed quicker, like an air brake, to make your enemy overshoot.
