Great instruction. For new pilots, he said this many times in this video and it still can't be overstated. Slow movements is key to great video. Camera movement is the fasted indicator to show the difference between a new user and one who has done it awhile. Good job Colin.

Hello, I'm new to drone flying, I want to ask how did you take a photo shot above from your camera on ur quadcopter? do you have a remote control on your transmitter to take photo shot or you can control the camera shot from your phone? I noticed you took a video and you said you took a photo shot also, did you use 2 different camera's? and what camera did you used? I'm thinking buying a dji phantom, I enjoyed your aerial footage. thanks

Hi photoshopCAFE, Thanks for your review. Just a quick question. I just recieved my device PV2+ and have flown in only a couple of times. I came across something about the camera tilt that raised my concern. I noticed when I tilt the camera via the app (smartphone soft/touch buttons), it tilts quite crisply responding to every click precisely on the gimbal, however when I use the metallic looking dial on the top left hand corner on the Remote Control (just above the S2 switch), the gimbal wobbles the camera before actually tilting it up and down, sort of like a very fast nod up/down before actually tilting in the direction that I want it to go so it makes it difficult to do as smooth of a tilt or like step by step tilt as it does through the app. Almost looking like it's a bit confused before responding... Like a wobble or shake, sorry I don't know how to describe it any better.. Is this normal or is my RC dial faulty? Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers q[^_^]p

You correctly say "nose down" for the second part of the compass calibration but you actually positioned the Phantom nose up which is not correct.
@photoshopcafe10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing this out, I didn't even notice I said the opposite.:) However it doesn't matter with calibration if its up or down as long as it's rotated on the x and y axis. It also does't matter if its clockwise or in an ant-clockwise direction.

Colin, when you calibrated with the nose 'down' you actually had the nose up, from what I understand it. Is not the red stripes facing the front of the quadcopter, where the camera is pointing. Or, doesn't it make any difference?

Hello Colin, I too am fairly new and shooting currently with a P2 with stock GoPro vibration mounted Hero3+ Black. After watching your video, do you feel hampered by the lack of Frame rates on the Vision +. I'm trying to make a decision whether to go to a Vision+ or add all the FPV goodies to my current bird?? One more thing, I watched you shoot a single shot using you phone, is that also possible if I go the FPV route using the Hero3+??
@techwithcolin10 жыл бұрын
I have 2. One I fly with the GoPro and the other I fly is the Vision +. If you use the goPro, you can either start the video or the images as time-lapse, you can change settings while its in the air. I find the goPro better for shooting video because of the higher resolution, and its also pretty decent for pulling images off the video. For taking photographs the vision + Is better than the go pro because you can compose the shots and even change the exposure settings while its in the air. It also shoot DNG raw. Although the time it takes to shoot a RAW image is very slow, its a better image. However the video on the Vision + is not good enough to use as still s. So if its good photos you want, shoot Vision + If its mainly video you need, shoot GoPro

They're not meant to be tough in crashes, but newer ones can certainly be tougher than their older gens, and they can come with tech that help avoids obstacles. They can last as long you regularly check if they're in good condition before and after flights and if you don't crash them. They can be worth it.

My only concern I have with the photographing the people is the noise these phantoms generate. This is probably the main reason that it is a nono in parks that the loudness detracts from the quiet beauty. So remember that when we are out there filming others, getting to close, the noise may be considered offensive. Otherwise it has some nice features about the video filming.
