Definitely one of my favorite paraglider pilots. The love and pure joy of this amazing sport you have is contagious. I hope I get into the air in the next few years. I'll probably need a little help from vittorazi because of where I live. Can't wait to see the next video stay safe and stay elevated 🌄🙏

It's funny, there are two named storms running through the UK right now! I'm sensing a pattern here...perhaps the UK has some rough weather...

In Britain landing on an arbitrary field may not be a concern, but this really depends on the country you are flying in. In Morocco for example, landing on a field near a village resulted in dozens of locals (mostly children and teenagers) gathering around your wing, shouting something in French, trying to grab your wing and showing gestures like 'you stomped our precious grass, now pay for that". So one should carefully choose a country for first XC experience, heh.

Just subscribed to your channel having come across some of your videos having watched another Pilot from NZ. Not in the sport/hobby at all but am interested in it though could be on the older side to take it up being mid-50's. Although where I live I've not seen a single paraglider in the skies at all ever. Curious is it mainly a male dominated sport/hobby or is it fairly equal?

What are thermal triggers ?
@vikingforties3 жыл бұрын
Lines of trees, hills, towns, edges of lakes, cloud shadows, motorways. Anything that will act to stop warm air from being in contact with the ground and give it the first kick upwards.

@@vikingforties Can wind be considered as such ?

@@vikingforties In what way do these things stop warm air to be in contact with ground ?
@vikingforties3 жыл бұрын
@@nonobebert7646 Usually the air that has been warmed by being near the ground is pushed along by the wind. Thermal triggers disrupt the airflow by blocking the flow or adding some turbulence. Once the warm air starts to separate from the ground it has bouyancy that will cause it to rise and take all the following warm air with it. This then forms the thermal column of rising air.
@nonobebert76463 жыл бұрын
@@vikingforties So if there weren't any obstacles there won't be any thermals ? The air would only move along the ground ?
