In Reaper Daw this whole process of placing a hook in an exact spot is so much easier. Here is how........ find your zero point entry just like in this video, then just click on the track that will serve as the top track containing all the tracks involved in the hook. At that point just paste your entire hook by entering the bar entry point. In the above example it's 1-1-005 and everything will be paste instantly on the right spot in Reaper. DONE. Even the zooming in and out in Reaper is fire because you can set up all the commands the way YOU want them to be. I have it set up so that I don't have to touch my keyboard. I zoom the tracks by hovering over any track and spinning my mouse-wheel forward to zoom and spin backwards to zoom out. I can do the same thing on how wide vertically I want to zoom in on the height of the track by hovering over the track panel on the left that has the track names etc. I hover over that zoom in or out with my mouse wheel. I even have Reaper commands set up to play and stop with one of my mouse buttons and cut and paste with another of my mouse buttons. My sessions fly and I don't have to be using stuff like beat detective or many of the other stuff in Pro Tools. I started years ago in Pro Tools 8 LE and I hated that DAW the entire time I used it. The learning curve in PT is a nightmare. Then I used FL, Bitwig, Studio One, Cake Walk and even Logic Pro. All those are a joke compared to Reaper. Reaper drops new updates every month or two and they really listen to what people want in a special forum just for the users on a website called Cockus Forum. I understand most major studios use PT and it's easier to share projects because of that. But, I am never switching anywhere else. To me Reaper DAW is God and it shows in my music. I spend now only 20 percent of the time editing and mastering compared to 70 percent of the time editing that I spent on PT editing. Peace Wayne.

This was a great lesson. How would you paste in a section with different tempo? For example, say you wanted to cut out your hook from this vid and paste in another one with slightly faster (or slower) tempo? Both sections were recorded with set tempo, they are just different tempos for each part. When I do something like this, time for other parts gets all out of whack, there must be an easy solution that I haven’t found yet.
@AlexTheRobloxPlayer Жыл бұрын
Time stretch it to match the tempo you are going for

Iv had Success with using tab to transient to find the same spot on each hook down beat. Tab to transient, shift semicolon down all hook tracks, shift click bottom hook track at end of hook to select, c, tab to transient on down beat of hook 2, shift semicolon down all hook tracks, v, trim beginning/end of clips if needed.
