does the phone come back on its own after the restore? i've tried to do this. but there was no indication in the finder to show me where the progress is, or if it even started, definitely poor design there. i waited for a few hours and exited the dfu mode manually, the phone was still not restored.

I received an iPhone 12 mini with faulty hardware and they're not shipping the new one for ten days. This is a lifesaver in the meantime as my wifi AND cellular data go out within an hour of usage. I previously tried network reset, factory reset, nothing worked. This is great and thank you!

Life saver! Just what I needed when my new iPhone 12 Pro Max bricked right after Christmas. It froze on the lock screen and would not respond to anything. The button sequence to force restart was not intuitive or what I was used to so having a simple clear video walk me through was just what I needed. Simple if you know the trick. What's the difference between a force restart and just turning off your iPhone to restart and wake up? (I never really understood these two features).

Force restart works even if your phone is frozen bc its a hardware reset whereas a regular restart is a software reset

Once my iphone x froze and didn't respond at all , I couldn't even turn my phone and restart it the normal way. The only method for me was to force restart it and once i did that , it worked.

iPhone ios 15.1.1 iPhone 12 Pro. Hard reset worked well, however it didn't reset my false GB-count as far as the photos on my phone. More specifically, General > iPhone Storage is still counting 40.3 GB for my photos: 137 photos and 2 videos (16 seconds total), and an empty Photos > Recently Deleted folder does not add up to 40.3 GB. Super frustrating.... I'm "this-close" to wiping the phone and restoring from iCloud back-up. I have easily spent probably 3+ hours over the course of a few days trying to deal with this storage topic and see endless people online are struggling with it as well. And supposedly 15.1.1 was supposed to fix the incorrect storage reporting. Nevertheless, your video is great. Thanks for taking the time to make it.

incase you are interested, to fix that you need to back up your phone on iTunes and restore via the backup.

unfortunately it didn't work for me (did it twice) I got my hopes up when it was finally seen by finder and updated my software (twice) but after auto restart the iPhone display says "unavailable try again in 8 hours". Not sure if there is hope for this iPhone 12 pro.

I managed to restart my iPhone 12 with this video. But it didn't solve the problem I'm having. I HATE the iPhone 12. They couldn't have made a phone more needlessly complicated and unintuitive. It's a POS but I paid for it and now I'm stuck with it. My iPhone 6 was better, but it died...I'm sure because Apple programmed it to self-destruct after two years.
