iPhone user here since model 1. Currently on an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Always upgrade the day presale opens. But the iPhone 16 and the Apple Watch 10 series launch. Have made me realize that Apple's "new" product launches are just repackaging of the same BS. iPhone cameras are suitable for close-ups. Zoom sucks; lowlight videos are only good on certain occasions. The fact that they added a button and called it new is just their way of pissing on their customer's face and calling it rain! What they do have is deep pockets to market the fuck out their products! Oh, and don't get me started on their "All New" Airpods Pro Max! That's another level of audacity!

Big good screen ❤, big good cam sensors ❤ and big battery capacity ❤ are the main features where the value of an iPone is. Assuming that big storage is in your iCloud account, of course (which I totally recommend if you want a total confort in storing and sharing your stuff across all of your Apple devices)! 🎉 Now I feel I do need a phone update because even if my iPhone SE 3rd Gen is quite fast and gets the job done, my battery does not last half a day of heavy usage, and more often than not I have to search for a charger in a middle of a task or even a phone call is cut all of a sudden because battery was below 6% and my phone was shutting down all of a sudden: it really suckity sucks...🤬! Besides, I only get acceptable nice photos if there are ideal lighting conditions. Otherwise they look so terrible and blurry that more than an iPhone you feel like they were shot by a 1 € camera. 😢

I have a 15 Pro Max since November 2023. I have about 210 charging sessions, and 96% battery capacity. Dan - you have half of that in 4 months already!! :D I guess my usage patterns are way different than most... :D The 16 series is the one that for the first time made me consider a non-PM purchase, and rather get a simple Plus (for the screen size), if I had to change phone. What would still block me is the lack of a 5x optical zoom, which I am using way more than I thought I'd need. If the 17 comes out with a more powerful optical zoom, without the need to get a Pro for that feature, I will get a 17 "vanilla". Or maybe an 18, since the 15PM I have is excellent. Regarding the Camera Control button: I am a bit weirded out that a phone that came out with the whole idea of not having buttons and relying completely on the screen, is now going back to buttons...? As for Apple Intelligence: I don't write enough on the phone or on the Mac to have a true opinion about the writing tools. I tried the "concise" feature (as you see I am quite verbose) but the shortened version often is TOO concise, at the expense of what I wanted to say. The clean up feature is the one I am using the most of all the AI features, especially on the Mac. This is such an upgrade to the "retouch tool". There are some corner cases, though, where the retouch tool was more flexible and easier to use. Still, for retouching old photos, more than removing annoying objects in pictures, a great upgrade that makes the job a breeze. Genmoji and Image Playground: good start, but meh. I generated a couple of Genmojis, sure look nice, but that's it. And I agree with you, Dan, no matter what you write in the prompt, but it never really truly gets what you want. It also doesn't offer varied enough choices: the generated images tend to look all the same. I also don't like the fact that you cannot have 2 people in the same image, and that a full body cannot be generated. It is always limited from the waist up. I'd like to generate images of us, me and my husband, and you cannot do it. Integration with ChatGPT, not the best - Siri doesn't maintain a history of chats and has no memory of your past requests. Each query, if handed over to ChatGPT, is a single atomic event. Not helpful. And, last but not least, why does the iPod Mini not use the phone to process requests, instead of still giving back the "I can show you the answer if you open this on iPhone". Or use AI Cloud? Especially when said iPhone is right next to it???

I am going crazy - trying to decide how to upgrade my old 2017 27" iMac to today's computers - I like the new M4 Mac mini - but selecting monitors has been tough. I'm getting fatigued watching videos on KZbin... lol (thanks for yours..by the way) .... I keep thinking I may end up with the 24" iMac (I'm ok with losing some screen real estate. I work in my home recording/practice studio - and I want to restore from backup to my new computer - whichever it is. Of course If I get the Mac mini - then I have to have chosen a monitor to go with it. I have usb-c interface currently going to my studio monitors...so I don't care about the audio on the monitor....I thought that the Dell Ultrashort U2723QE was pretty cool - especially where I wouldn't have to buy an external dock/port for my peripherals - printer... mainly.... I realize that I wouldn't have a built-in camera - like the new M4 iMac...for video FaceTime calls - but ... I don't really use that - so far - I prob would just use my iPhone. Thanks again - I will keep wrestling with what to do - ..... I want to be frugal - but have the money not to be.... I don't do video editing so I don't need any of the extremely expensive Mac displays. (your opinion would be helpful.... thanks)

Indeed i really agree with you. The m4 (pro) is really really good. One tiny mishap nearly all external portable display don’t work with a single usb c cable as did all the m models before it. Apple did something with the ports that the displays don’t get enough power to operate. You have to hook an extra power supply to the screens zo it works.

Still have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the battery health is at 84 percent I don’t plan on upgrading my phone unless I need to or when my battery health reaches 50-40% then maybe I should upgrade my phone.

Went from 13 pro max to 16 pro max. Don’t even notice a difference. Tried apple intelligence a little. Still very much a beta. I’ve had iPhone since the iPhone 3G and might have to try the galaxy fold next time

16 pro is my first iPhone after years of galaxies lol, glad for the simplicity of use and overall probably my second favorite device next to the Galaxy S9 lol, I would trade all the AI for the Galaxy S9 and that wrap around screen with todays cameras inside lol That’s what the iPhone 16 pro is for me, I don’t use the AI other than photo clean up. Although with iOS 18.2 the 30sec night mode photos now seem to have a lot of blue noise when in very low light, where it should be black in tue photo and into the scene there is now some blue mess. How they take it away I don’t know why they would add that in the update lol idk that’s my only complaint

Action button also could turn on camera apps, don't always promote that wow function on camera control please, remember there are so many ways could open camera apps even in the Lock Screen mode
