if i knew last year that the M4 would be a fraction of the cost of the M2 i would have waited a year...i got the M2 through student discount for 650 USD 16gb/256gb...i can get the M4 for 450 USD !!! base model of course !!! but still much lower cost

I bought it for the sake of having the fewest compromises when it comes to drawing and illustration. The air is pretty close on that end, but I could notice a difference after hours of playing with both.

How do you remove the large icons? Takes up too much screen real estate.

We have had so many issues with this machine we are sending it back. The serving sizes, one cup of drip coffee comes out ok, next one is dirty water. Very inconsistent

Categories is junk. I stopped using Gmail because iCloud didnt have this. Now that it does, I’m dissappointed at apple who once said “simplicity is everything” …”it just works”

I see a lot of content on KZbin about this version 18.2, but many of the updates either aren’t available in Europe or don’t work here. It’s really disappointing for us.😢

I love my mini6 and was looking forward to this update but I find it underwhelming. If they had given it an M series chip I would have upgraded but as it is I’m sticking with my 6.

iPad mini 8 should have M5 chipset and the world is on my hand, this device is incredible, the size is sweet spot, using ipad pro m2 before and only use it on my home

As much as I enjoy my Apple devices, I was able to do this 5 years ago on Android 🙄

Absolutely terrible. I immediately turned it back to the old layout. Gmail did this ages ago and I hated it there too, and removed those "mailboxes" as soon as I could. I already have rules that sort my email, I don't need anyone imposing _their_ idea of organization onto _my_ email, thank you.

I hate it. I was waiting for an important email all day, and Apple categorized it as “promotional” and I was never notified. This is really bad.

Is there a way to remove the category icons (still remain when in list view)? They take up a lot of visual space and are more distracting than helpful.

Seems like adding categories makes my life more difficult and confusing. They should stop making nonsensical changes to apps. If they want to modify an app, how about focusing on Apple’s crappy mail client embedded in the MacBooks, etc.

Well there are people like me who take the bus to work and to school college every single day just to take my phone out of my pocket on my backpack to change the song or pause the song or whatever. There are times when I'm all bundled up for school with my dad get my hat my gloves and everything and I don't want to take my phone out of my pocket and I want to just listen to the music right then and there and I don't have a smartwatch to switch the music on. Well with this I can use the play pause speaker to change the songs and leave my phone in my pocket and not have to worry about it or somebody calls me I can answer it right from the case

I tried it the other day and it was amazing I'm definitely thinking about getting one hopefully soon

This would be more useful if we could choose how we want categories to be, instead of Apple. For example, I get a lot of calendar invites, I’d want to keep all items in Primary (not just the ones Apple deems worthy) except, I’d like to create a custom “Invites” folder that everything with keyword “Invitation” in subject, would go to that folder.

I have one, and the ANC works best in quiet environments. If you want proper ANC, that completely blocks noise, get the Sony WF-1000XM5

How do I get rid of the category icon and reclaim valuable screen space?

Looking forward to picking one of these 7th Gen’s up. I’ve been using a 6th Gen as my Primary device. Don’t carry a phone or a laptop I use the mini with a google voice account and headphones for the minimal amount of phone calls I take. Wish apple would bring the “Phone” app to a device with cellular capability that really has no reason to not offer it other than maybe they fear cannibalism of iPhone sales? Seems like a stretch.

I always wanted Apple to pursue smart home devices and though they’ll probably create something amazing, they’ll probably price the items so high that nobody will buy them and they won’t get any refresh and they’ll pivot to something else
