Hey man been enjoying you back on it...hopefully you are still keeping on your main goal at this point? I love watching your videos as you arent over the top, just a family man living his life. Much love from australia. P.s you have inspired me to throw more forehands, shown how i needed to change. Now i am finally close to the 300ft mark, where as 2 months ago, i could barely throw them 150ft. Was throwing them ridiculously wrong. Thankyou very much.

Man that so cool to hear, lol yea I gotta keep the main goal as the top priority. I love this hobbie and making videos it helps relieve stress and also makes me better, gotta squeeze it in win I can! Hopefully I’ll be able to keep the videos flowing. That’s awesome you have gained 150ft in distance, that’s always a great feeling when things come together and it shows. You’re very welcome and I wanna say thank you very much for support and positive feedback, have safe fun weekend. I’ve always wanted to visit Australia seems like a really cool place

@DiscManiac28 that's good! Really good to see your positively & motivational videos coming in also... Yeah Australia is alright, best to avoid in peak summer though, (unless you want a hot Xmas) our autumn to your spring would be ideal.

@@ComeatMEOW thanks your heads up I’ll remember that if I ever make it over there! My wife is a huge tennis fan and wants to go watch the Australian open one day so it’s a possibility I’ll go, I’ll have to bring some discs when I do :)

@DiscManiac28 oh ok peak summer it is then! That's in Melbourne at the rod laver stadium I believe, plenty of dosc golf Parks in Victoria, but there aren't as many as the u.s. So depends exactly where you are, it can be a bit of a drive to get to one. At the moment the local course (half hour for me) has been virtually unplayable since the start of December, the other one is further up another 10 mins, but that hasn't been able to play on it much either. So then I'm left with an hour drive. But it is my favourite permanent course up in the state of Queensland.

A grip that settled my forehand down a little (not that I have a forehand)... is the Power Grip (1:29) but my 'ring finger' has the fingernail inside the outer edge so the 'Lower Rim Profile' is flat against the middle finger side of the ring finger nail. This (for me) creates a triangle of points under the disk with my thumb above, mid triangle. Without this I find the points under the disc are in a line... Index tip, pointing tip, pointing knuckle... Just try holding the disc loosely with the ring finger not touching, and see how easy it is to wobble the disc up and down with your other hand... now touch that ring fingernail to the rim and see the increase in stability... Unfortunately not only do I throw a a forehand.. I throw a muscle on the opposite side back just above my hip... so I try to restrict my forearms to upshots... (welcome to my dyslexia.. I usually say forearm instead of forehand... Lysdexia slures K.O. (actually I have been thinking I should try throwing left-hand backhands instead... I'm semi ambidextrous so that may be the answer...)... For now I throw a really overstable Tesla flat forearm for a few right hand turns.. and the same disc Anhyzer for softer flat landings through narrow gaps (and the odd far reach right with a rubbery overstable mid (RPM Kea) for those hidden to the left from the basket upshot/flex-in-putt Oh and with a really flippy disc, forehanded upside down overhead at 11 O'Clock for what we call the "Traveler" after the guy that showed us how to do a particular hole through tight trees with a shot that on a good day he gets a complete 360deg roll through the flight landing upside down again beyond but mainly vertical through the trees. ("Traveller" is his name... Spose it's better than "Moon-Unit" q8D

Nice participation from the fan mid-video. The thing that got my forehand passable and usable on the course was standing still and flicking with all arm until the release was clean, either into a net (couch in my case) or just as far as the grass in this video, not much farther. To me, the foundation of every disc throw is the release and then works backward from there, and that's probably even more true of forehands than backhands and putts. Physics just will not let a forehand fly if you aren't getting spin on the disc. In my experience, a lot of the time when beginners think their angles are bad because the disc is rolling over, it's actually that they aren't getting enough spin on the disc (gyro force) to handle the torque they're putting on it (lift force). Practicing flicking the disc out of your hand is also really useful when you need a get out of jail approach shot or a forehand shape but don't have the space to put much power into it. It's a shot not a lot of people have.

Ii have became a predominantly forehand player over the last few years, the biggest key to improving my forehand was getting away from high speed, over stable discs. I started throwing putters and approach discs. my go to discs are Prodigy PA3 300 Firm plastic and West side harps. throwing too many high speed drivers will mess with your forehand form because, they are very forgiving. most players will just throw an orverstable disc on anhyzer and let it fight back. this will also make you prone to injuries. i started trying putters and my form changed drastically. Practice throwing putters with a lot of hyzer. get them to flip up to flat and not turn the disc over. Drivers like to be thrown more. putters and mids like more spin. driver throws are more out in front of your body while mids and putters need to come out on much more squared off and low to high throw. my tip is to line up the out side of your left shoulder ( right handed player) to the line you are trying to throw. it is very similar to how you would line up a backhand. really use that left shoulder opening as the trigger for your throw. try to visualize the line. imagine a straight line from your left shoulder is the farthest possible point that the disc has room to work to the left, then imagine the right side of the disc on hyzer, drawing a line down the farthest right your disc can go without hitting a tree. now draw a triangle from your left shoulder to right shoulder, that is the line you need to hit. snap the disc to the right on hyer and follow through to the left line. smile after you learned how to flip the disc up and watch it go straight down the fairway. hope this helps.

Love the comment, I started having elbow pain a few summers ago cause I was throwing super stable discs the way you describe. I’ve gotten better at throwing less stable but not as good as I want to be. It’s a part of my game I gotta work on, understand forehands that is, lol

The Nate Sexton grip is another variation I'm trying right now...he uses a stacked grip but curves his fingers slightly so there's more tension there AND brings his index finger underneath his middle finger. I'm keeping them stacked side by side but curling them a little. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYKZiKiqq9Nng8k

@@anthonyfinney6326 very welcome, it’s hard to pinpoint what’s happing in your throw when I don’t get to see it. Just like the backhand rotation and spin are important and I didn’t mention that in video but if your not getting good spin it will also affect wobble. Not sure what your missing let me know if need another video on a different part of throw. Wanna help ya out as much as I can without being there 😂
