Awesome demo. I do similar lollies. I bought dollar store fake lollies and disassembled them for the pattern. I also add a leaf out of bed frame angle. Fold it got. Cut to shape then open. They turn out very nice. My best seller. Keep up the awesome videos.

I love this idea!.. I am a floral designer by day, beginner blacksmith by night!... so here my only beef - a calla lily is one of the few flowers with an absolutely perfectly smooth stem lol. The large variety have about a 24"-28" long stem tapering smoothly from approx .5" at head to 1.25" at base of stem (yes they get that fat at bottom- its needed to support the length of the top-heavy flower) and the miniature variety of the flower has a stem of around 16" length and goes from about .25" tapered to .75" still having a smooth taper. The size in video would be large variety and i would love to see that with a smooth stem and LOOOONNNNGGG. I understand top heavy weight may be an issue in an artsy piece - but I love that challenge of balancing materials for a central even weight. I could see myself making several of these callas and placing them in a concrete urn and pouring a little quickcrete in the base to hold them in place and MAYBE even retaining a drain hole through the container and adding soil to fill the container the rest of the way and plant something like bear grass or curly/coiled blue grass at the base for a nature meets metal kind of piece.... not something i could sell at my flower shop though; people in smalltown alabama can't afford the $ to justify the effort. beautiful work though. I love that your channel is showing me a few helpful techniques and spreading a little Christlike attitude along the way. God bless!, Wesley McCravy

Beautiful work. I am going to replicate this for a memorial. What do you recomend to coat the steel to preserve it?

Hi Roy, I am about to start on a lily. I am cutting a 4" x 3" piece from 22 ga sheet metal I had laying around, then I will draw and cut the flower from that. Is 4" x 3" too small? Thanks Roy Mike.
@ChristCenteredIronworks6 жыл бұрын
No I think that is about right ... If in doubt go for 5in x 6th :-) God bless

easy enough project for a beginner. Looks like 14 ga sheet metal. all a person needs is a pattern to trace out. As always a great video

Wish I had watched this video before I tried to forge weld the one I made. Almost ruined it before I gave up and pulled out the Tig welder. 5 minutes, done.
