you can forgive when someone accidentally made a mistake. However, there is a limit. Prabhupada gives the example of a branch manager who fraudulently misrepresents himself as the owner of the company. When the owner finds this out and takes him to task that man cannot just say, oh, my fault, this won't happen again. No. The owner of the company can only do one thing, tell that man to find a new job.

I do forgive the people people who do mistakes but the the thing is other person never realize that he or she repeating the mistake. I try to explain, they never listen and understand. I always try to correct the issue, just leaving the person alone. For understanding where the mistake is taking place needs mental maturity , vision, acceptance and experience. I face this problem in my everyday life. Sometimes it is frustrating to keep on in track correcting people. Arguments, misunderstandings and anger takes place instead of understanding and correcting. I mostly keep quiet to avoid arguments and fights because I want peace and harmony everywhere. I was blamed, neglected and misunderstood but I try my best correcting the wrong one. The person who repeat the same mistake thinks that this is the way they follow and learned. It makes no difference for them. It needs self acceptance to correct oneself. All I like to say is keep the surrounding atmosphere healthy, pleasant and happy to keep up the positive energy around the world. Jai Sri Krishna.

@max D A mistake done unintentionally then becomes a qualifier. You can ignore a naive ignorant person but even here it is case by case basis. Krishna killed naive well intentioned Barbarik too who had not committed any crime yet just based on the potentiality of Barbarik's reasoning and skillset unbalancing the ritu of the universe. So no such generalised statement like turn your other cheek or practice forgiveness must be taught as a principle.
