Albeit, Super Germany is imo not as strong in vic 3 as it was in vic 2. The main reasons Vic 2 supergermany was so strong was due to an elevated birth rate due to 40 life rating, high literacy, and a lot of industrial materials. In vic 3, literacy is very easy to get and very fast to get as long as you can pass any type of education reform and doesn't matter as much due to technology spread, birth rate is entirely based on SoL and healthcare now so germany gets no privileges there, and so the only thing that makes them super powerful is their industrial resources, which is still insane in Vic 3.

I would rival the Ottomans (Austria also often rivals them +) and the USA just for the diplo points. 3. Why not use the war against someone you do not already get for free? I like Switzerland

If you want to get an early lazzies Faire / Free Trade combo you can do corn laws at the start of the game. Once you go north german confederation you cannot get a market liberal landowner to spawn because the leader of the junkers will be event determined and he cannot be removed via corn laws.

Awesome videos! I'd like to see a guide on Hawaii. I've seen a few videos of cut play-thrus but I'm interested to know how you'd get over the first hurdles as such a small state. Joining a larger market is usually easy enough but getting that first 3k gold to put down some construction sectors can still be challenging. Also, being small puts a lot of focus on immigration so I'd be interested to know what can be done to boost that early game. A video or any advice on this would be great. :)

Best way to boost immigration is by making the Intelligencia a powerful interest group that's loyal to you, and by keeping unemployment at basically 0. You can also use greener grass decrees. Also Getting your literacy rate up is a must so you can get much higher innovation. An Excellent small nation to test this out on is Belgium, I was messing around and without expanding a single state was able to have the highest gdp in the world before 1880.

You should focus on very profitable good, I saw some small nations with 15+ SoL and it wasn't gold. You can get first money by puppeting someone, your overlord if you are protectorate usually is willing to join. The only problem is gaining random prestige from reforms to get higher rank.

I decided to do my second vic3 game as Prussia after the Belgian Tutorial. I also did a lot of bankrolls to try and unify Germany quickly through confederations. Didn't realise that the form Germany button takes attitude into account and not just owned states.

Austria had a revolt in Krakow in my run, so my progress with them got significantly boosted once I sided with them. Oldenburg and Hamburg really didn't want to budge though

I explained it kinda poorly in the video, but the reason you go to war with Luxembourg is so that you can call anyone who is still cautious of you at that point into the war so they'll become genial. That's the reason to spend the effort to get obligations over them all.

Great video! I’d love to see a USA video. All the big content creators did US videos on the pre-release build, and my experience has been that they did some game updates that reduced (though didn’t totally remove) all of the cheese options there. So it’s still possible to ban “S” without civil “conflict” but it’s not as easy as it was. Also it’s still possible to puppet Mexico without a war, but I found it took forever to get them up to annex, and when I did it tanked my economy, and spread chaos in half my states.

yeah any time you annex a country, it will tank the economy because none of the states are incorporated. Usually the deficit will go away once the states are all fully incorporated.

In my case the moment I annexed Mexico every province there went into turmoil over 40%, and in several months most of my western US provinces (which were fine before) went as well. My radicals went from 120k or so to 3.5million. I’m still struggling through it, developing Mexico to bring up the standard of living but it’s a huge slog.

@@alatamore I would say that if they had turmoil as soon as you annexed them then Mexico was already having trouble with it themselves. Try and make sure none of the Mexican pops are being discriminated against, and try to buff your police forces.

I had multiculturalism passed already which I think has helped with it coming down. I can’t figure out why the US pops also had issues though. The states were impoverished though so that might be part of it. The eastern ones which were richer had no issues.

@@alatamore Standard of living plays a huge role in radicalism, best way to fix this is to simply produce more goods for lower class pops, things like food, clothes, and furniture. You want things like that to be cheap in your market so the lower strata can afford them easily.

Just checking in, you probably want to have more than 35 construction points in 1844; perhaps even 10 times as much If you wanna be meta about it i'd suggest going maximum taxes and having as many construction sectors as your income allows, you can always not-construct if you need money. The 10x extra buildings will a) boost your economy substantially (after all that's what the game is all about), b) make your pops richer as they won't be peasants, thus increasing needs and pop growth and c) increase income as more GDP = more minting and more pop income = more income through taxes. My guess is you just didnt bother to micro the construction as you just wanted to show the strategy but incase someone doesnt know, there you go yet another guide

I would like to see this from the Austrian perspective. I've tried a number of times and have only been able to win the leadership play. But can Austria incorporate/federate with the German minors like Prussian can? I've never received a popup even though I've had nationalism/pan-nationalism and great relations with all the German minors. Up to and including having them in my market rather than Prussia's. So any tips and tricks would be appreciated! Great video from the Prussian side of things!

I don't undersand why but for me when I get to the part of inviting Asutria to my war against Luxemburg Austria just refuses to support by bid for unification :// They support it in terms of score but they don't aknowledge it which prevents me from annexing their lands

You'll have to make sure their relationship with you is high enough before hand, I believe it needs to be at minimum amicable before hand, otherwise their support for you want be enough. If that doesn't work try waiting until it becomes friendly before attempting to unite.

It isn't stated well in game, but to get nations with south German as their culture to join you, you'll have to wait for them to research pan nationalism. It took me forever to figure this out, hope it helps.

I got screwed over twice in one run trying to replicate this. First France declared me their rival and second Austria formed an alliance with Russia. Do you have any suggestions on how to avoid that?

I can't say I do, I made this run 4 times before making the video and never had Austria form any alliances. As for France you only need your relations neutral to bank roll them. So if relations are cold simple improve them until they become neutral again.

Going to need an update to the guide. Something changed and now the southern states always break custom union with you and side with austria in leader ship play. Even when facing down prussia, france, russia, and GB, austria never backs down.

This can happen for a few reasons. If the button isn't there it means you don't have enough influence and need to cancel some other bank rolls. If you can hit the button but relations won't go up, that means Austria must have started damaging relations with you. Also make sure to cancel your rivalry with them as well.

You should be able to get an obligation over Prussia and Use it to call them into a war on the same side as you. They should then get a modifier of "On same side of Diplomatic Play as you", and that should move the attitude above genial. Make sure you form Germany Before the war starts though because I don't believe you can form it while at war.

@@AlmostWilder In the Video I chose to do Luxembourg Because they would cause the least amount of infamy, however the only thing you really want to make sure is that the powers you want to unite with all have an interest in that region, otherwise they can't join you. I think Luxembourg is the safest option, but if you want to avoid infamy all together you can just declare a humiliation war.

when you form Super Germany you get all of Austria's land, not just the german lands, would this mean that getting France as a friend in the diplomatic play give you all of their lands, or am I misunderstanding something?

No France will never join in unification of Germany. When you go to the country formation screen, only the countries with their flags present have the opportunity to be unified.

check before hand which powers have an interest in that region, then bankroll any other major power . If you need to you can bank roll the ottomans as well to get an obligation over them too.

Doesn't really work anymore since the 1.2 patch. At least it seems so, because the whole RNG system has got f'cked up on my end.

So the system is no longer as effective, but it still works. the chance of getting an obligation was dropped from 1% to 0.2%. so it now takes about 10 years to get one instead 2. So strategy still works, but it's not nearly as reliable.

And since Pan-Nationalism now takes 9 years to research, I just bankrolled Austria after they got neutral and then 3 years after I got Pan-Nationalism I formed Super Germany with the same tactic.

In my game I actually got the Austrians to be reconciliatory with me after the war because of the pannationalism research, I don't know if it's rng or not, just happened that way so I didn't need to bankroll them at all. Also, you literally steal all german culture states if you have +50 relationships with them, absolutely no need for war, even schleswig and holstein, I thought I was seeing things but lo and behold, once I hit form the rei... I mean greater German rei... oh nevermind, yeah, got all of them...

Unfortunately no, France is incapable of giving you Alsace Lorain diplomatically in this game. Only the Nations with the correct culture can participate in the Unification of Germany.

I always laugh at the idea nationalism was “invented” in the 19th century. makes me sad that there isnt any benefit to forming germany as a more minor power. in vic 2 if you formed germany as, say, Luxembourg then you got to keep french as an accepted culture which was HUGE in that game. now Luxembourg has wallonian as its accepted culture and even if you go through the agony that is forming germany with them you lose that accepted culture sadge

@@santicraftmcesp.9178 this mostly happens because your relations aren't high enough, they'll need to be at minimum Amicable, but if that isn't enough try getting them up to friendly before launching the diplomatic play.

I believe I was mistaken in the video. You need pan nationalism to form other countries and I assumed it was the same for Germany.

Oh who gives a shit when you have super russia right next door. All you have to do is get the lands between persia and India and Vietnamese and Siamese lands. Job done. You can get to 2 billion well before 1900s with no other conquering needed
