In this video i go over the method that allows you to unite super Germany in as little in game time as physically possible in the current version of the game. As of making this I do not believe there is a faster way of achieving this but if you know of another way, feel free to let me know in the comments below.

I honestly really enjoy the major nation formation system in the game and wish we had more of them. The minor nation formations really don't feel special enough to be worth doing.

If I remember correctly there was an attempt by the US to conquer all of Canada and during the Mexican American war there were voices arguing for a full annexation of Mexico. So there is some historical precedent, if I'm not wrong that is.

@@Alpha_Digamma There was talk of expanding the Revolution to Canada during the war of 1812, but the Canadians were more or less loyal to the crown (That's where most of the pro british people fled after the revolution) and the battles themselves went poorly. There was some talk in the southern planter class to take over basically all the carribean and mexico to make more slave states to keep the balance of power between slave and free states or maybe tilt things in their favor. That was kinda more out there though. In the 1950s there was talk of eventually the whole world joinnig the US you can find some old Sci-Fi where that's the case.

Great guide. I managed to form Super Germany with your guide in 1864. But when I pushed the button and form Germany I had a bug with my diplomatic relationsips with countries which I had already integrated. It cause draining my diplo influence. It says, for example, that I am bankrolling Hamburg, or improving relationships with Bavaria and etc, so make sure to remove all diplos before forming Germany. P.S. In the first war France always intervenes against me, so I just called it on my side with obligation and still managed to take brandenburg and liberate Pomerania and Westphalia.

Prussia becoming Protective is not random. In my reconing, if Prussia is still a Great Power after the war and sets its attitude towards revulutionary austria, it will be protective. You have to wait roughly a year, so they lose their Great Power status, then they become cooperative towards you. So all in all you have to wait a bit longer till you trigger the revolution to let prussia loose their great power status. It may delay the run by one year, but saves countless attempts to get the timing perfect.

Did it as Prussia yesterday, in 1863. Austria supported integration when our relations reached 80, can't tell if there were other factors.

I also tried it as Prussia but ran into a super unwilling Austria, even at +100 relations and +80 "reasons" to vote for me (which I think is the maximum a Great Power can have?) they just didn't (I guess it's the reason he takes Brandenburg, to knock them down enough so they are willing to join up?) Thankfully it resolved itself since Austria got a huge revolt so I could jump in and help them, losing half their territory and forces to the revolt faction meant they suddenly considered themselves so weak they were willing to join so I fought down the revolt and clicked the Unify button the same day the war ended, kinda fitting to have the Habsburg bow to the Hohenzollern king in Vienna and join Super German Empire after they came and saved their butts from the angry peasant mob :D

They might have changed it in the last month, it is MUCH easier than it appears to be in this video. I have gotten it first try three times in a row. Regardless amazing video SUPER helpful. Super Germany this early feels like typing in a cheat code. I have as much Construction output and GDP as I normally do in 1880 as the US in 1850. As well 4 times the population and almost all still peasants so you have so much higher you can climb.

I made Super Germany in 18 years as Prussia and in 1854 I have GDP near 80m and high income with middle Taxes. And in 1862 I had already few lvl3 techs .

So, wouldn't resolving earlier the Schleswig-Holstein Question be beneficial? If I remember correctly, you can annex them south german states, create the SGF as a dominion or straight up leave them as is, which gives a bunch of opinion with basically all north and south german states. Exploring that route could give you the liberated Schleswig and Holstein too, besides giving an earlier and much more extensive opinion boost.

I tested that, but I found that if I didn't use it second, I just wouldn't annex all the German minors, and I'd be left with a bunch of small German states.

Good walkthrough, just wanted to add that i've had an crazy rng game where Prussia began increasing relations after my first war with them. It made it real easy for a rushed Germany without civil war flip. I remember liberating westphalia and pomerania and conquering Silesia. Then for some RNG reason they went for the diplomatic stance of "reapproachment" or whatever it is called which i often see The Ottomans have towards Austria. So MAYBE, by the rng gods blessing, there could be an faster way to form Germany. Or it might not be possible in the new patch. Other than that, i remember trying the "vassalization" of the minors to force support for German unification. Problem is the terrible relations you obtain with everyone through the numerous "wars". But it is an interesting "alternative" to improving relations.

Okay, just did some testing and found out that the ''Cut down to size'' casus belli can be really abused to fully annex Prussia through like 3 wars(which can be ''truce broke'' by attacking other minors and allowing Prussia to try and help them), release Prussia as a puppet, be cut down to size because of infamy above 100 and lose all vassals you've made, and end up with a friendly prussia and 0 infamy. How? Well you'll have to abuse the minors (Anhalt can be conquered and released as a puppet, and then it will gain all of Anhalt, even the prussian parts, same with Brunswick. And also to try and release both Westphalia and Rhineland) in order to not allow Prussia to be returned the lands you took from it. Just continue the aggression and accept about 1-2 cut down to size, until Prussia becomes small enough to be conquered in one war, and then released Prussia before you're cut down to size again. You'll have bad relations with every minor german state, except those you released from Prussia(westphalia, Pommerania, rhineland, Anhalt, Brunswick, but you can just use the Schleswig-Holstein question to get rid of the southern german states. And then use your ''0'' infamy to conquer the minors you need until you got 23 states under your control. I also would abuse the conquering of the saxon minors, as if you're forced to cut down to size again, you can just release one big friendly saxony. Only issue of course is that i tested this quickly with -debug_mode and the mass annexations did result in every other great power hating my guts, so it might be hard to push back their involvement during these wars.

This was a cool video. Question: when I go to add the intelligentsia I get an illegitimate government. So I can't pass any laws. I did a reload and it seems like a consistent problem in the latest patch. Do you have a workaround for that? Some other way to kick off a revolution perhaps?

Great guide! I managed to get Germany formed on October 14 1842, but unfortunately Denmark didn't back down so I had to war them so didn't get all the territories until September 43, so a bit slower than yours.

It takes a lot less restarts if you just start improving relations when game starts. Getting trade agreements, defensive pacts ect ect.

how did you get russia to ally I've reloaded like 40 times and russia doesn't want to ally edit: the victoria tweaks mod sadly messes it up nevermind

I noticed sometimes the game will say they won't ally you when they actually will. Check and make sure the numbers actually add up before reloading. Though i will say I had a pretty long stint of them not accepting while making the strat. It's really just inconsistent.

@@TobyYellsAtThings Yeah I unloaded the moss and somehow got all the rng parts right but sadly it took me 2 more years than it took you because Bavaria was cautious of me even though we had +50 relations. I also accidentally allied Baden so when I did the nation formation they didn’t count for it even though they were in my customs Union so I was stuck on 22 out of 23 states for an extra year or so. Great video nonetheless and I could probably do it a lot faster if I tried again with that in mind

It's almost essential to release Brandenburg because it causes a much bigger hit to their prestige then releasing Danzig does. The difference is usually in whether they become a major or minor power after the war.

When Prussia had the civil war, it looked like the rebel side was weak enough that they would have accepted becoming a protectorate? I've been able to snipe a lot of major nations that way in my runs, including getting Russia as a subject as the US once when they had a really weak liberal revolt. Would it still work with Prussia as a protectorate?

As long as you can get them to join your customs union it doesn't matter if they are a major power. The game doesn't allow you to be a German unification candidate if you're a minor power or in someone else's customs union.

In theory Prussia could do it just as fast, but would require a lot more luck to achieve. You would somehow have to reduce Austria to a minor power without them losing all their territory.

@TobiasParadox Couldn't you knock them off as a unification candidate, and if you're feeling you need to, take a high income state (with pre-knowledge) to help knock them down a peg to get Austria to join you? As I'm typing this I'm getting the sense it'd take longer.

You could still do it pretty quickly, I just don't know if you can do it just as fast as you can with Austria. You need to remove them as a potential unification candidate, and the only ways of doing this are to either reduce them to a major power and get them in your customs union or fight them after National identity has happened. The second would unfortunately not be the faster then the Austria path, so your only option is to reduce them to Major pre 1843, you might be able to do this through humiliation wars both before and after your civil war, but then they may not like you enough to support you as a candidate.

If you fight a liberation war against Netherlands for Luxemburg they'll become part of the Confederation too. Liberation produces 0 infamy, so Luxemburg is free real estate for you. You had some waiting time for relations improvement you could have done that.

Yeah, it's a bit of gamble but if you keep good relations with France, Britain and Russia, you should be fine with anything relating BeNeLux.

Is that to make an alliance or call them into the war as an ally? Because I know they very rarely will let themselves be called as an ally. I was usually able to get them to accept a normal alliance but would go through phases where they wouldn't accept for a good 10 attempts at a time.

I never tried it myself but you could potentially try to fight the war without allying them, then call them with the offer state. I never tried this myself but it could achieve the same results.
