I'd be interested to know how you deal with inserting mages into Vellum, or do you rely on the images being in the original .docx file you import? I'm interested in trying to use this as a means of insterting QR codes into eBooks to allow people to access other resourses using a smart phone as the web experience on a Kindle is pretty grim. So, images in the .docx file or inserted in Vellum afterwards, after importing the .docx? Thanks.

I’m glad I found you. You have a lot of books. Do you advertise your books through face book or emails like MailerLite. How do you get your books to be seen by the public? I am now trying to learn vellum through their tutorial. Haven’t bought real program yet. Sample program. Had to buy Mac too. Learning to use it. Any thoughts, help you can share will be appreciated. Just saying pictures in books cost money to Amazon is worth knowing. I see your example book is over 100,000 words. How many pages is that. Does vellum # pages? How many pages is 100,000 words? Is it good to write books of that length? Thank you. You are inspiring. You’re young. I’m 80+ still learning and tackling new things.

This was great, thanks, Claire! One question, though, you mentioned how you checked all of your YA novels to see what size they were. I'm assuming it was 5.5 x 8.5?

This was really enlightening, thank you. One thing I cannot find anywhere online, is whether or not Vellum allows you to set text into two columns on a single page. Do you know if that's possible?

Thanks Claire. This was useful. I have a Mac, so can use Vellum potentially. But the cost is very off-putting. Hence looking also at Atticus, which is way cheaper. But watching your video and Atticus videos, I did get that vibe that Vellum is nicer to use. Have you tested out Atticus at all?
@vangiekitty9 ай бұрын
I have Atticus and I don’t like it. I’ve decided to go ahead and buy vellum after watching this video-it looks easier to use

Can I ask why you chose to use Word + Vellum rather than Scrivener for your writing?
@gabi_razazi5 ай бұрын
Hi!! Do you or anyone else knows if there is a way to set Vellum so I can scroll through the chapters? It’s so annoying not being able to read everything in a continuous way, specially for editing.
@phoneguylms18 күн бұрын
do you know if it's possible to have chapter number and subchapter numbers show on top of alternating pages, like Chapter 3, Chapter 3.1, Chapter 3.2, etc. (and probably book title on opposite page)... someone said only chapter numbers, NOT subchapter numbers

Thanks - I have 5 short stories I am going to publish I am not a tech geek, my spacing and margins etc are all different in the stories, Can I correct this in Vellum? I'm ready to purchase this but that is my only concern.
@WritewithClaireFraise7 ай бұрын
Vellum will make all the spacing and margins uniform across your book. As soon as you upload your book, it will put everything in the right font and have the margins be uniform automatically (which is what I love about Vellum--it was driving me crazy trying to get everything uniform on Word)

This is a good video, but after watching it I noticed som errors that you have made befor importing the file from Microsoft Word. We need to use stiles in Word befor importing the file to Vellum. That way Vellum makes no mistake naming chapters, as it is in Word. Using stiles in Word makes the writing also so much easier. :D

format just means Everything is in the same style, like the same headings, same subheadings styles. FORMATTING PICTURES just means the same size pictures with same borders and size, but if using bleed, meaning that you want pictures to the edges of the paper, just leave it in the safe marginal space. Don't forget to press the "search again" to update the table of contents each time you make a change. I went through hell figuring this out. Tip: just persist.
