How to Format an SD Card for Your Trail Camera

I'm curious if when i ReFormat my SD cards, is it possible to set them to record in MP4 as default. I find that my cameras are recording in AVI , which prohibits posting to some social platforms.

Every camera records using different platforms, some you can change, others you can't.

I always do the quick format, would this be the reason the camera keeps saying card when I put it in the camera?

Do you mean no card? Possibly, if not, I would try a new card or the camera just isn't reading properly.

PC laptop recognizes the SD card and it appears to function correctly. However, when SD is placed into the trail camera, the camera display remains dark. This is what happens when you turn on the camera without a SD card. It seems that the trail camera does not recognize the SD card even though it works in the PC. Any ideas?

That is probably a bad SD card, I would format it a couple times and if it still does it, throw the card away.

What if I don't have a computer? Can I use my phone?

Not to do a deep format. A true way to do it is a Windows computer.

Thanks, I left the tick showing in the Quick Format box!. I will try again. My trail cam stops recording video after 10 seconds when I had set it to 30 seconds!

@@draudelul3292 In a way. The playback speed after i load files to laptop are very fast. By normalising the speed on Video Editor i can almost get the time per file correct. It works, in a way!!
