How to format an SD Card that will not format on Steam Deck.

This Video serves as a fix for anyone with an Sd card that will not format on Steam Deck
Make sure you are buying Half-Decent SD cards as well, as off brand ones can either corrupt your data or even not work at all.

Before my 1tb Samsung Evo Plus Micro SD was working. But I wasn't able to format my Micro SD on my steam deck. So I followed all the instructions. Just for my 1tb Micro SD not to work on my steam deck and laptop. So basically it broke my micro SD. I highly don't recommend anyone doing this method.

Lol we have the same sd card reader. Just did it, it read it but the sd card was full with no space. Going to try with other format option.

Literally just reformat it back then, there is almost 0 ways you can permanently brick an SD card outside of physically damaging it.

Yes, that's what the tutorial is for, and it should take about maybe 10 or more minutes depending on the SD card speed

It is because it is formatting to a Linux format from fat32 or ntfs and it takes longer

No dude, my card won’t format at all anymore. I can’t even change the drive letter. Steam Deck fucked my card then jizzed in it’s eyes. Notice how you right click on a partition and it gives you a bunch of options? Yeah, not after Steam was busy gaping my card. Just sent it out for RMA yesterday.

sd card always have this problem, most of my sd cards are dead. People said i bought fake one, however these are in bestbuy and they just slowly die, probably we formated too many time and at some point while it format we shutdown the computer or took it out. At this point i just use USB stick with the dongle from now on.
