Gmail Forwarding Filter -: Sometimes, you do not want to forward all your emails to somebody else, may be only the selective ones, and this is what i will show you in this video.

You don't need to go to the "Forwarding and POP" tab. You can enter the forwarding email directly into the filter when you create it. Also, does anyone know why forwarded emails set up in a filter don't have "FWD" as a prefix?

Thanks for putting this together; very helpful. Now, how is it that we can have those 'auto' forwarded emails appear in our Sent folders? For me, messages that are auto forwarded DO NOT appear in my sent folder. If I were to manually forward the email, it WOULD appear in my Sent folder. Thank you again.

I do not think it’s possible out of the box, however you may leverage things like Zapier, integromat, or custom scripting for it.

You can not forward old email via forwarding filters, but it is possible using Gmail API. There should be some tools already available which can help you do this, try googling.

Hello Goldy - You made that very simple, but is there a way to forward emails filtered by the time they are received. I would like emails received during closed hours to be forwarded to another address but emails received during open hours to not be forwarded.

It would be very hard but possible. 1. Each email has a timestamp in the header which tells us the received date and time. 2. You would need to write a script or use a system like Zapier which will first parse the timestamp and then compare it with your office hours. 3. If the timestamp is out of your office hours, then it would forward email to required person.

This cannot work if I want to forward specific email to someone else with email account outside of google. For example I want to forward the insurance certificate that is renewed monthly to a storage unit I hire. Obviously I don't have access to the email inbox at the storage unit and they will receive a confirmation email from Gmail that I forward messages to them which they will most probably ignore.
