Bravo! Love your tutorial on how to frame. Finally! Someone that knows how to do a “how to video”. By far the best I’ve seen. Succinct, and to the point without all the blasé chitter chatter that you often see in other boring videos. Well done! I will be following and subscribing to your channel! Thank you Elysia!!!👏👏👏👏

I just found your channel and I love it. Such great information. I've been making signs for only a few months now. I don't have many tools as I am getting them one at a time. I usually use old worn out and thrift store wood pieces and signs to create new ones. I'm having a wonderful time learning new techniques and tricks to make them look amazing. This video has some great information about frames, which I haven't been putting on my signs. Thanks

I started a handmade business in 2019. By November it had taken over the house. I had three market tables in the living room full of product and the dining room co weed and my sewing room bursting. Over Christmas holidays we built counters downstairs and I built floating shelves all by myself and now everything is in the basement and I only see upstairs. It’s “sew” nice to be able to shut the door on work and have off time again! Yeah for self employment and getting er done! Love your videos and heart! ❤️

@ElysiaEnglish5 жыл бұрын
John Waites I love the look when they are framed up. Also can add a bit of detailing if you create a frame with a router edge if you use a router! (I will show in a future video) I would LOVE to work outside all year like you but Canada gets pretty chilly!!! ❄️
@johnwaites68035 жыл бұрын
l live in the UK so the weather is cold and wet, yes I use three routers for various jobs but the scroll saw is used the most. Before I started this I was a site Joiner and worked outside for 50 years, believe me it was not fun too hot in summer and too cold in winter.

I found your channel today by accident I was looking at Cricut videos and your channel popped up. I haven’t researched your play list yet but I hope you have a video on how to use a Cricut to design a lettering project. Thank you for the inspiration, I hope soon to make my first project. I don't know if I can explain list clearly enough but I have a neat little tip for you that might save you some . Instead of adjusting your saw for each opposit miter that you have to cut you can simply flip the board iver 180゚. I wish I could explain it to you better. There is a gentleman here on KZbin who has a channel called wood working for mere mortals, He is pretty good and maybe able to explain to you What I cannot. But basically by cutting on the opposite side of the board you can save yourself from readjusting the saw thus saving time thank you for your wonderful videos!

Have you ever done frames where you cut a groove in the 1x2 and the 1/4" plywood sign slides into the grove?
@ElysiaEnglish5 жыл бұрын
I have created them this way. I personally use wood for the backgrounds not plywood. The wood I use would not fit into grooves. I find a thicker wood much more durable than a thin plywood board.

first thank you so much for this. I just started doing wooden signs a couple of weeks ago. I have gotten several orders so this helps me a lot to expand my sign making. I have a question though what are some inexpensive types of wood to use for the signs. I am trying to figure this out. I get overwhelmed when I go to get wood to make signs. I had some wood given to me plus a friend of my son does wood carving so he cut me a log a half inch thick and sanded the one side for me . he did about 13 pieces for me and I sold all but about 6 which is being taken to a local firehall festival at the end of the month. I would appreciate any help you can give me. thank you
