Whether you can afford one or not, I tend to want to do so many different things, that I would only make a couple of things with it before I’d be off to the next thing. AND, there that machine would be…just sitting there. I love this video! It will definitely take longer than a cutting machine, but it’s always good to build basic skill sets by “doing it yourself “. 😊

One of the things that I love about you and your channel is that you give alternative ways to create the SAME THINGS that you do in your shop. Lots of other KZbinrs try this buy end up only giving a VERSION or variation of the product or craft.... thank you 🙏🏻😊 keep up the good work!!! I ALWAYS get excited to see a notification of a new video uploaded by you!!! Also, on a side note... and warning this may be TMI however I struggle with depression and anxiety caused by PTSD. I also just underwent right hip surgery and that just so happens to be my 18th surgery total. I cannot tell you or THANK YOU enough for your videos. They have helped me immensely along with what crafting I’m able to do at the moment!!!! Please keep them coming! 💜

I'm old enough that we used carbon (graphite) paper for many things, including when needing copies of letters or such that you typed. I learned to type on manual typewriters, then electric. My Mom taught us crafts using carbon (graphite) paper. It is great to learn manual skills that you can fall back on if your electric tools and machines are unavailable. I really enjoy your channel

I used just a black crayon and rubbed it over the back of the printed paper, and did almost the same as you. It didn't come out as crisp as yours, but it was evident enough to draw the words in with chalk pens (it was for signs for my nephew's wedding in a castle), and sealed it with a spray. You look so 'sparkly' these days, so happy and comfortable in front the camera now, but still humble, so cute. I love the interaction between you and Philip, it makes my heart happy! ❤️ Edit: you can get carbon copy paper that shows up when written on, like on receipts, but doesn't come off over everything as easily as the graphite paper.

Cecilia Baca my son, nearly 13, has Down syndrome, and yesterday he said to me "Mom when I'm bigger we must have a workshop and make furniture" 😁 I told him I think that's a wonderful idea! It has always been my dream to make furniture I'm just really nervous to try and other than a drill and a hammer don't have any other tools yet. I think it's time to try, a wood sign seems like a great starting point.

So I just want to say thank u for coming to you tube and teaching us all how to do things on a budget I'm so glad I found your channel

I total forgot about the graphite paper! Used it to type copies of letters in high school. Lol My mom use to use it on her painted ornaments. You can use a pencil on the back of your print out, though more time consuming. Thank you for the reminder. I have one sign I'm going to redo for our home. We were full timing in the RV but now we have permanent custody of our grand daughter, so bought a home again. Love you😘

Elysia , such a helpful video ...I teach craft classes for a local hardware store and this is how I teach my ladies how to transfer a design or letters onto wood . We don’t use graphite paper though , we use the old fashioned way of colouring the back of the letters which are printed onto a piece of paper , then turning the paper over and drawing over the letters as you did . Your way is MUCH easier and I will be using this technique from now on . Thank you
