I was about to put a thumbs down until I heard you say “ ok so they are good yaaay” in a sarcastic way👍 thanks for the video. Cool I can freeze my bonanos!

Loved YOUR method. I used waxed paper (didn’t have parchment on hand) and the foil. I placed them whole and sliced 3/4’s of the way through. Took out pan in the morning and they were white, no ice and whole. Let it sit for about 15 mins and slices came apart to add to my smoothies with blueberries and almond butter & milk. Thanks again.🙏

Thanks Amy and Eric! I needed this tip. I'm always losing bananas that can ripen unpredictably... Love the custom apron 💚
@EricLearnstoCook4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Amber! Yeah. Too many people call me "dude" or "the man" or "Amy's son" "Amy's dad" "Amy's husband (OK that's acceptable :-) but even if I announce my name at the beginning, they fast forward or something. So I'm hoping the apron helps them when it's time for leaving comments. True. LOL.

Thank you for posting this. I too buy (a few) bananas at different ripeness; the green and partially green ones ripen way to fast for me. I like mine with a little green on the tip and bottom leaving them with just the right sweetness and firmness, yummmm.

Just throw the whole bunch of bananas in the freezer, pull one out run it under hot water for about 15-20 seconds, the skin peels right off.
@amerdajani3 жыл бұрын
that's the answer i'm looking for. not a god damn 12 mins video telling me how to fill up the freezer space with little amounts of bananas. damn, i would buy a whole new banana with the amount of foil he used.

Thank you! I'm going to try this. Whenever I freeze them in bags they turn dark or black and then I'm afraid they'll make my smoothies slimy and gross. Maybe freezing them laid out first is the magic trick I needed. 🤞🤞🤞 Thanks

Me too, and I like them green level going in and going out, at least the banana part.

I like to cut them into smaller chunks so that they'll fit better in the blender. I pop them in still frozen and it replaces the ice cubes in smoothies.
@EricLearnstoCook4 жыл бұрын
Great idea. These would give the Kitchenaid a heart attack (if I haven't broken all of them yet), but your idea would work well. The Vitamix takes a moment, but will pulverize almost anything. Yes, frozen bananas are a great replacement for using ice cubes. Much better flavor. Thanks for watching. We appreciate it.

@alyxchavis25262 жыл бұрын
Plantain are much bigger. They are fried green as tostones or fried very ripe called maduros. Maduros are sweet and easy. Skin should be partially black. The green ones have to be mashed a little and put in warm salt water before frying. The bananas you are freezing can be cooked like popatoes when they are 100% green. They are very cook. Boil with salt and serve with a teaspoon of the water. They can also be made like potato salad. Good luck!

throwing in freezer and defrosting and then peeling is good. Some people are thrown off by the darkened peel. But there are many ways to do this. I just got fed up with panic attacks over how to deal with over ripened bananas.

Put the skins in a jar with water and after two weeks, you can feed your tomatoes and cucumbers with banana skin water. It's full of potassium and your plants will fruit and grow healthier!

@EricLearnstoCook4 жыл бұрын
You can try just tossing them in a freezer. I've been paranoid about things sticking together if they're touching when freezing. this separation prevents that. But, it does introduce condensation when moving them to the freezer bag. The biggest thing is to remove as much air as possible so they don't get freezer burned if you leave em in the freezer for a few weeks or longer.
@carolynnscoffield440 Жыл бұрын
Not for banana cream pie. You need to use fresh bananas only for that! That said, I just purchased 2 entire boxes of bananas from Big Deal Outlet for $1 per box. You bet that I’m freezing a lot of bananas today, after sharing what I could with family & friends!
