Hey man! Thanks alot :). Hope the build works well for you, I'm working on a build order that gives you constant production of knights from the school of cavalry . + Either spears from barracks or archers from range depending on what your opponent is going for (I think it will be a slightly better balanced build and harder to counter for the opponent most likely). Hey, love the content so far. Could you lower the game sound in your reccordings ? Some times, the scout sounds cover your voice a little bit and make it hard to completly distinguish what you say. It's a little pet peeve.

Hey there! Thanks so much for the feedback, nah I totally get it, I wish i had the sound levels sorted before this video! I'm still very new to KZbin so this kind of feedback really helps! As I want to keep improving the quality. I'll definitely be paying more attention to that and hopefully will be better for future vids! :).

Thanks, i've been also trying to get a proper boom 2nd TC build for Civs that can't rush you like abassids or HRE for example, and still not trickle your royal knight but does get tricky and still working on it to perfect it. 1st Vil goes to Gold > As soon as you get it out you build house>Mining Camp in queue, 2nd Vil Goes to sheep, 3rd Vil goes to gold (Early 2 gold miners), Then everyone on sheep until you hit 16th in pop and plop school of cavalry, you build it with 1 > Then split the villagers into 4 in sheep, 5 in stone and all the remaining producing villagers to wood > Once you reach 300 stone you send them back to gold to train the knight in advance. You will get enough for 2nd TC without halting the production, then split to 5 in gold, 4 in wood and 4 to build the TC, rest collect food keeping a 2:1:1 ratio of food, wood and gold as you boom, keep production rolling and have some backup wood in case of either double down in eco/blacksmith research or a change of plans during midgame and you seriously need archers ASAP (most common is either they invested in mass producing spears to stop you or they turtled too hard and you can push with rams). Do not recommend this build order for beginners thou, it requires reading map RNG and scouting the enemy to adjust and using your scout to a good extent, you can freely trickle vills between building the landmark up to 4 from wood and 2 wood ones for food if you need the knight sooner (get 2 extra knights but TC comes down 1 minute later).

Now i know why we didn’t get french and rus in closed beta and stress test. Knights in feudal age are OP from rus but even stronger knights from French are even more OP

Yeh man they can be super strong. they can be countered pretty well with the opponent going mass spearman though so beware! - If you're on the receiving end of this strategy, that's what I would do! I hope the build order works well for you if you use it, let me know how it goes! :)

why the 3 to wood so early? what do you need the wood for? seems to me workers would be better used for gold/food/faster building? I think you can build SoC, and then put 2 on wood. Imho you don't need to pre-build 2 houses, just build none or 1 and then use the wood for blacksmith and 2nd stable. after knight production kicks in, you can build the houses?

I played french today the build I was running was 8 sheep 3 gold 11 sheep pull 3 gold to build landmark immediately at 400/200 then all new vils go to building the LM move 2 sheep vils to gold to get 100 gold for a knight as soon as LM finishes then you will end up at 7 vils building the LM take 5 to gold and 2 to food then all new vils rally to wood you should get a new vil as the LM finishes and that will be your lumber camp vil at 9 pop build a house with food vil and same at 18. This opener was letting me get my LM finished around 4 min and 3 knights by around 6 min or less. Take 3 knights to raid while building a blacksmith and archery range then get siege engi tech. finish them with around 5 archers and 10 or so knights and a ram.

I played a bit of multiplayer 1v1 and found loads of people using it, what would be a good counter? I can't seem to manage it with spearmen.

Wooden palisades at least help somewhat, same for Outposts. Station some spearmen near your vulnerable spots.

As a counter I would go quite heavy with spearman and also build outposts for areas that your TC doesn't range. With outposts, there hopefully shouldn't be too many areas they can hit. If they go for rams then you can attack those with your spears. The real problem I guess is if they go knights + archers + rams. then errrrm.... hmmm probably spears and archers might work, but tbh, feels like a Knight, Archer, Ram push from French is a bit insane!

That's a good thing, it shouldn't be enough to defeat a hard AI, the build will give you a double knight production opening but you'll need to adapt to counter units e.g. archers for their spears. The knight rush should get good damage and harassment, but you're definitely likely to need siege to take out buildings. I suspect the hard AI went for spearman defence? You can mix in archers, research siege engineering and get some rams. knights + archers + rams should work well
