I love the way that the kickflip style of fs flip that you do looks. I feel like mine always go a bit more vertical but it's what I'm comfortable with now.
@RadRatVideo7 жыл бұрын
+VLSkate I've tried vertical, but they just don't work for me for some reason
@relyesss4 жыл бұрын
The vertical ones are really nice because they look like chad muska's FS flip. I grew up watching his skate parts and always saw the legendary muska flip.

Dude, thanks so much . I've got these dialed now. I used to do illusion flips, now I've learnt the Reynolds way. All because of these tips. I was so close to landing them before . I always got them but couldn't roll away. I can now. All from that no comply tip, and the tail push thingo. I always land it now and roll away. Itsy favourite trick but it just eluded me for so long. Much thanks from Australia my brother
@Thurston867 жыл бұрын
I learned to Frontside Flip riding off a curb at an angle instead hitting it straight on. It was way easier for me to get the full 180 motion that way. After i got used to it doing it on flat was no problem.
@user-og6ol2im7v7 жыл бұрын
For me, I really focus on giving the quickest snap possible on the tail with some scoop towards the front. It's has to be quick like a whip. When you do so , the rest of the motion is very subtle and almost effortless.

Can you do nollie bigspin heels? Those are one of my favourite tricks I almost had them when I was in my prime. I'd love to see you break them down, you're good at explaining stuff

This was always a bit complicated for me. It was easier to pop it as a hardflip than a kickflip

I think the hardflip way looks cooler too

@zewkee48617 жыл бұрын
Learn to land them with just your front foot first so you get the idea of getting your fatass foot out of the way. Then go balls deep and commit. Try it fakie in might be easier

I'd suggest to think about scooping your nose forward as much as possible. Quick.
@forrestweber6917 жыл бұрын
For all 180 kickflip/heelflip variations, there's only one thing you need to keep in mind, "up and out"... that's what you should aim to have your feet do.
@chrisdelves88476 жыл бұрын
Have your front foot halfway to a nollie FS shove position, right in the pocket, pop down and flick your back foot toward the opposite pocket, after getting that, it's a matter of staying over it.

what you said about your back foot in popping them higher is how I hardflip
@TheGhostOfFredZeppelin7 жыл бұрын
Personally I've found that it's mostly about the scoop with this trick, just like with the fs heelflip which is mostly scoop (for me at least). I put my back foot pretty much where Reynolds does and think of the flip kind of like a hardflip like you said but instead of flicking outwards like on a kickflip I imagine flicking through the board if that makes any sense. Tricky trick at first but when I got them down like I do them now they have just stuck, if I don't do them for a while it won't take long before they are back if I just keep thinking of my three main keys to it, scoop, hardflip flick and flicking through instead of out.
@drxzt7 жыл бұрын
that's a muska flip, and if you do it that way you won't be able to go into sliding tricks with it
@IsaiahMalin9 ай бұрын
For some reason i just can't *not* flip the board end over end, which i mean i think looks cool anyways but yeah, and i super suck at hardflips but when i add a frontside turn, suddenly i can hardflip. . .its like i need that extra turn of the body to even flip the board, and i just like naturally scoop it upward i guess. Random thoughts on an old video lol 😅

I have a question for Ask Rad Rat: are backside flatground tricks supposed to be harder than frontside ? Or is it different for each skater ? Which is "the hard way" ?

Can anyone help me out? Been getting into acutally skating instead of just watching stuff about it all day again and it's really hard to get the confidence to get the backfoot on the kickflip because the flick with the stepping off isn't too consistent. Been stuck there for a while so i'd really appreciate hearing what helped you guys
@boosts147 жыл бұрын
Alex Seibel just make yourself land on it. Not a lot of bad can happen on the flat. If you're too scared to fall you'll have a hard time progressing with skateboarding.

Try la ding just with the back foot, then just the front foot, so both feet know what to expect. Then just commit.

Wow, I'm actually first (I think). Anyway i hate frontside flips, and everyone should stop doing them so that i can stop getting letters on it in games of skate. Edit: I actually ended up learning them! Im not too consistent yet, and im sure they look like crap, but hey I can pull them off here and there lol.
