I made with a handfree frother today. It came out like a foaming hand soap. I love it.

So, I was wary of this technique but have always thought you've had some good ideas do I decided to give it a try. It REALLY works! Even on my double coated clients, poodles, everything. A Cavichon who is always super dirty came out soooo clean. I also love the hair texture using this method. Can you explain why it works so well? I can't find any information on it. I'm assuming it cleans better is for the same reason you don't wet a dog first when using a skunk removal mixture. It grabs the dirt and oil better? And I also agree that they seem to dry faster.

Hi, so happy that you tried it and loved it. I love it. Frothing conditioner is even better. Frothing breaks down the globules into smaller globules which helps increase the surface area of the shampoo which helps grab more dirt. It adheres to the dogs skin and coat instead of dripping off the coat. By making a fresh new batch for each dog it prevents bacteria or mild to grow into the shampoo mix.

@@LoveofGrooming Thank you. That's what I figured. I did try the conditioner that way yesterday also. I loved the results. Thank you for sharing. I love making my clients happy. And it makes my job easier. ☺️

I'm going to try this for my housecalls. It would be nice to not carry as much product. That coat looks so good! And it looks so relaxing. I bet it's great for puppies.

I know this is an old video, but it popped up in my recommended section today and oddly enough it’s something I accidentally started doing! 🤣 I use regular dog shampoo, not from concentrate like a professional groomer. But because my boy has some skin issues, I like to add coconut oil to his bath water and to his shampoo to lessen the occurrence of dry skin and the dandruff that inevitably follows. But when I add the shampoo to the melted coconut oil and mix it really well, it ends up frothing naturally! It certainly does make a little bit go a long way, so I’ve been able to use less shampoo than I’d originally started using and get him equally clean. It lathers up even more when I apply it to his body and scrub, so I know this combination is not adversely effecting the efficacy of the cleaning agents of the shampoo either. And because he is so short haired, this combination is moisturizing enough on its own for his fur not to need to follow it up with any conditioner. And having that coconut oil in his bath water and in his shampoo has helped immensely with his dry skin too. No more dandruff! He’s definitely a pampered pooch ♥️🐾

Thanks for sharing. Does the coconut oil make the coat greasy or feel greasy?
@NativeNYerChicHK Жыл бұрын
@@LoveofGrooming Nope! Not at all! I think because it’s mixed with the shampoo when I rinse him well it mostly all comes out of his fur! No greasy feel, but a nice shiny coat! I think the time it spends on his skin during the bath is enough for the moisturizing to take effect. It’s been really great for his skin and fur. Also, it’s not like a big froth that occurs, but enough to make it feel and look somewhat whipped and definitely spreads the shampoo a longer way. I really love it, makes bath time easier ♥️🐾

@@LoveofGrooming He’s actually a unique little dude. He’s twice the height & weight he theoretically should be for his breed mix, and we found out it’s because for some inexplicable reason he just didn’t inherit the genetics that is responsible for keeping small breeds very small 🤷🏻♀️ We couldn’t figure out what he was so we did an Embark DNA test. He’s a mix of 4 toy breeds: 48.9% Chihuahua 25.8% Small/Miniature Poodle, 14.3% Miniature Pinscher & 11% Pug. All the online puppy calculators said he should have topped out at approx 10lbs, but he’s actually 23lbs and tall & lanky, with long thin twig legs. His body shape looks more like a small Italian Greyhound than any of the actual breeds in his mix. We got him when he was 4 months old and struggling to reach 5lbs due to suffering a couple of parasites and kennel cough when he was rescued off the street as a stray. After being treated for everything and fully recovered, even our vet was shocked that he just would not stop growing during his first year. He’s 16months old now and finally done growing 🤣♥️🐾 He’s single coated and his fur is super short and tight to his body and he’s basically bald on his underside! 🤣 I think because so much of his skin is exposed is why it’s dry and can be sensitive.

So how do we make sure we are diluting the shampoo correctly 16:1 , 50:1 ?

I'm going to try a hand mixer instead since I don't have a frothing machine. I think it should work 🤔

Is the frothing wand better than repurposing a frothing hand soap dispenser?
@Cathie5555 жыл бұрын
I use the frothing method it does an amazing job, you can also get the same affect with a sponge or a loofah, you just put the shampoo and water in a bowl and a little bit on the sponge and as you rub it on the dog it forms a ton of froth ☺️
@feedwinnie5 жыл бұрын
Are you recommending this method for all stages of shampooing? Such as degreasing,( clarifying if needed) etc.? Instead of say, the Chubbs bar? Asking for my persians because they always need a degreasing bath first. I hope I asked this question correctly...Thanks! 😊
@LoveofGrooming5 жыл бұрын
You can use this method with a degreasing shampoo or just use the chubbs bar as it would be not be possible to froth the chubbs bar. and do the final shampoo using the frothing method.
@feedwinnie5 жыл бұрын
@@LoveofGrooming Right, I should have said "instead of using the Chubbs bar." That's what I meant. 😉 Thanks for your help!❤😊 I am curious though... Which do you prefer now, or does it depend on the individual animal, the Chubbs bar or a liquid degreasing shampoo concentrate, frothed?I know cats aren't your thing usually... just asking. 🤗 Thanks again!

I prefer the chubs bar for degrading cats.

Would this work on a standard poodle coat? Just wondered, because Yorkie fur texture and thickness is a lot different than a poodle. I wonder the frothing method would work for conditioner too?
@jecriggs5 жыл бұрын
oh, and do you think you could froth conditioner as well?

I did use the froth on my dog, but I have been wetting her before. It still worked really really nice! I only needed to shampoo her once and she was soooo clean and soft. I really like this method for the cleaning benefits. The froth feels so nice and soft and my dog (little maltese girl) liked it too. Thanks again for sharing and stay well!!!
